South Africa's graduate employment gap reveals a stark reality: white graduates face 7.9% unemployment vs 36.9% for black graduates. But why? The gap isn't about qualifications — it's about systems. White graduates benefit from stronger professional networks, giving them access to the "hidden job market" where most jobs are never advertised. Meanwhile, many black graduates rely solely on public job listings, a far less effective route. Institutional reputation plays a huge role too. Degrees from historically white universities are still perceived as more prestigious by private sector employers, creating bias before interviews even begin. Add in unequal access to internships, vacation work, and geographic proximity to economic hubs — and black graduates face compounding disadvantages before they even send their first CV. Fields of study matter as well. Black graduates are overrepresented in humanities; white graduates in engineering, ICT, and sciences — fields with stronger hiring demand. South Africa has made progress since 1994, but structural inequality doesn't disappear with a policy change. Closing this gap requires employers, universities, and government to actively dismantle the barriers that persist.

In California, we’re addressing this gap through strong laws, pay transparency, and our California Equal Pay Pledge. CM Fellowship: Where Young Ideas Meet Governance Attended the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme Appreciation and Commencement Ceremony 2026. The Chief Minister Fellowship Programme, launched in 2015, was envisioned to bring the fresh perspectives, creative thinking and field-based approach of young professionals into governance while creating meaningful learning opportunities through close engagement with the administrative system. The collaboration with IIT Bombay is giving the programme a more structured and academically grounded approach, further strengthening this exchange between young talent and public administration. Over the years, Fellows have made valuable contributions across several areas. Their inputs helped shape Maharashtra’s Startup Policy, supported the strengthening and repurposing of the Maharashtra State Innovation Society, and contributed to the development of district-level war rooms that enabled data-driven monitoring, ground-level assessment and more accurate evaluation of government programmes. Fellows have also contributed significantly to initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayat Raj Abhiyan, various housing schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and efforts to create better market linkages for products made by farmers and women’s Self-Help Groups. Their field interventions have demonstrated how fresh ideas, when combined with administrative experience, can translate into meaningful outcomes on the ground. Farooq Ibrahim, a 54-year-old gaadiya vendor, has spent the past five years at Siyam World Maldives, bringing with him more than three decades of experience. Farooq said the idea of introducing a traditional gaadiya at Siyam World Maldives was proposed by the resort's manager, Ausy Waseem, and director of marketing, Sara Siyam, who approached him to help create an authentic Maldivian experience for guests. Drawing on his decades of experience, he advised them on how to develop the concept. Today, he said, the gaadiya has become one of the resort's most popular attractions and is recognised across Siyam World Maldives and other Siyam resorts. He explained that when he first joined the resort, the gaadiya sold only fresh coconuts (kurumbaa), which he felt would not be enough to sustain the concept. Based on his recommendations, the offering gradually expanded to include traditional Maldivian favourites such as hedhikaa, maskaashi, dhiyaa hakuru, and mudi kaashi. The gaadiya now showcases a wide range of local produce, including fresh screwpine fruit, with the live demonstration of cutting and serving the fruit becoming a memorable experience for many guests. Farooq said he hopes more resorts across the Maldives will establish gaadiyas to help preserve and promote Maldivian culture. He also encouraged young Maldivians to consider the trade, noting that their English language skills would allow them to better engage with international visitors and elevate the experience, helping introduce this uniquely Maldivian tradition to a global audience.

"The longer this war lasts, the more experience we gain," Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Naqdi said Tuesday in an interview with special correspondent Reza Sayah. "We had never seen a real war to gain real experience to learn how to fight with America. In these five months, we have learned how." Troy Aikman is absolutely right This is how it’s supposed to go.. 1. Team has long term head coach and has established vet Qb 2. Rookie QB learns on the pine with clipboard in hand. Learns the offensive philosophy of the head coach 3. Rookie finally plays and it’s ugly for 1-3 years 4. Talent gets added each year, as team chemistry and experience takes over 5. Year 4-5 you see what you got Chicago Bears made Fields experience all the lows without giving him a chance with a real team. 3 years of hell !! Bears ruined that man career and gave everything he earned in blood away to another QB Steps were skipped and that’s why Bears went 5-12 and cleaned house Johnson had to build the OL inside and out. Something that has been needed forever! Johnson had to clean things up and I’m glad to see Bears finally get the right coach to develop a QB I just know Fields deserved this chance too…

Today, we complete Circle’s stack with the launch of our own website builder. A quick backstory: When we started Circle, my co-founders Rudy, Andy, and I would often talk about how most websites for creators and digital products felt disconnected from what they actually sold. Visitors might land on a beautiful website, but the moment they signed up or became a member, the experience fractured — dropping them into a different platform that felt fragmented and transactional. As a contract CTO for dozens of creators, it was Rudy’s job to build these websites, and no single platform let him create a cohesive end-to-end experience for his clients. For a while, we were almost convinced the world needed a new website builder for creators that tightly integrated the post-purchase experience. But we talked ourselves out of it after attending the Webflow conference in SF, realizing how daunting it would be to build a full ecosystem for it to succeed. Five years later, we’re finally completing the vision we had from day -100. I’m excited to announce that Circle can finally power the whole experience for creators and community builders. With the launch of our website builder, you can now create beautiful, high-converting landing pages, sales pages, and funnels. Peller is trending because the secondary school drop-out TikToker is humiliating Nigerian University graduates for an ordinary ₦500k monthly salary. He kicked one out for having the audacity to correct his English. And another for not being “poor enough”. Today, he met the 20 people and live streamed the dark interview. Which many educated Nigerians are describing as “humiliating.” Interestingly, most of them do not have a Masters Degree. According to his regular fans, since he’s uneducated, he’s trying to prove that “school na scam”. Because, he’s been taunted over his illiteracy since his fame. Meanwhile, others think it’s just content to trend, because clearly the candidates do not have Masters Degrees.
