// a few thoughts on remote work for animators (especially important for aspiring animators) my story: let's rewind the clock back to this animation. You're looking at a very rare 17 year old gameplay prototype animation done for the next gen Prince of Persia series at the time. What crazy about this clip is that it was done by 1 animator in a couple days. I literally saw it animated from start to end with my own eyes. The animation quality in this clip is off the charts, especially when you take into account the animations being released during that era. Now imagine me, in my squeaky chair, swiveling around every few hours to feast my eyes on this animator's dual 27-inch ViewSonic CRT screens. There was an air of magic in those moments, seeing the Prince of Persia coming to life only a few meters from my desk. When I would turn back to try and resume my work, my first thoughts were always "how the heck is he animating so fast and so well!" - What's even more puzzling was how he had so much control over the 3dsmax Biped, it had NO friggen F-curves, for crying out loud! loll - who was this animator? The monitors I would stare at from my desk belonged to Emile Ghorayeb. Just search his name and you'll see his IMDB credits. He was THAT good back then so you can only imagine how insanely good he is right now! Today, he's a very good friend of mine that I love very much and we have a lot of wonderful industry related memories that we share! - why does going to the office matter? Every day going to the office, I'd be really excited to see my team and eager to see what Emile was working on! I couldn't wait to dive into my own animations, driven by the aspiration that one day, just maybe, I could reach a level of skill and finesse comparable to the incredible quality he brought to his animations. - conclusion Remote work is wonderful, don't get me wrong, it's given us all opportunities we would have never had before and I'm super grateful for it. That said, for next generation of talent that hasn't yet experienced it. Try and work from the office, if you can. In my opinion, it's the best place to learn, to get inspired and certainly the best place to make some wonderful friends that will be a part of your animation journey for life! I had a dream the last couples of months, a dream that kept me fighting, enduring, training, a dream that helped me to find a way to connect to tennis, my dream was to win a medal in my home country Olympic Paris 2024 A dream that looked impossible from the outside, knowing my last months results. But dreams are what give us life and energy. I needed to dream. I was aware my level was not at his best, my confidence and fitness neither but I had one goal, which was too give my 100% everyday while competing on court in front of the amazing French fans! I’m very disappointed with my finals results, I wish I could have make the Olympic dream be alive longer. I have to accept I was not good enough, my different opponents were better than me on those matches. Still, I gave it all, and as a reward I had an unforgettable experience with the crowds, a connexion so strong and so powerful, that I never felt before. It gave me energy, it fired something inside me again. I showed a face, a determination and fighting spirit again that was switched off. I found the light again on a tennis court. Very grateful to have experienced the magic of playing for team France, in Paris in front of a packed and enthusiast crowd, cheering me on, from the first to last point regardless of the score! As an individual athlete, it means a lot to be part of a team, to have a country behind you and feel that you play for something else than just your personal goals. Let’s see what the future brings us, but I think that even though the results were not what I wanted, maybe in a few months I can say that Paris was after all, a great success for myself. Death, where is your shame? We laid my mother -Mai Wadzanai to rest this afternoon next to my sister Wadzani under the wings of savanna trees at Nyamadzawo Homestead, located at at the foot of Chengenga hill in Domboshava. I don’t know about the land and times beyond death but I would like to believe that sooner or later she will join and have the company of my grandmother -Mbuya VaNancy who passed away less than two weeks ago. They will pair together and keep each other company as they journey beyond the land of the mortals. I have gone through a lot this year, As some of you might be aware I had a near death experience when a friend and myself were abducted in Durban, South Africa and got released after they took a large sum of money from us and everything we got. Ever since then I have had a series of setbacks. It is by the grace of God that I am still standing. I want to thank everyone who is standing with me in these difficult moments. For the first time in my life I have scheduled an appointment with a therapist so that I get counseling and hear how best can I take care of my mental health. As I go through grief and mourning I want to take time to reflect on all the lessons I got from my mother. I will remember and cherish her kindness. She is the most selfless person I have ever met. RIP Mamoyo. Tionane kana Mwari achida.

I am sooooo freaking grateful for this man right here. He led the way to make one of my dreams come true. When FOX made me stop fighting in 2004 that demand reallllllllly messed with my soul, my spirit. Plus, I was going through a brutal divorce. Jared Allen made sure we did everything together back then, made sure my nights were not spent alone in misery of loneliness bc of the sudden divorce. At the same time, even though FOX forbid me from taking another fight, I was still training every day just in case they changed their mind. Jared and I lifted together twice a day then he’d drive me to fight practice and sparring twice a day. Eventually I said, “instead of you just sitting here waiting on me like you’re my mom waiting for me to finish soccer practice, hop in the ring with me and my team and lets turn football into a fight.” Jared trained his ass off like he was a fighter, got his hands VIOLENTTTT, really violent, did a ton of Greco Roman wrestling and BJJ drills open up his hips while lowering his base and getting his leverage to be a true weapon. But more then anything Jared viewed every play as a round and he knew already had nworked harder than anyone he’d line up across so he could swing away as the men across from him would break. Welp, Jared went out that next year and for the first time led the league with 15 sacks and he announced to the world and over again it was because he trained in mixed martial arts with us. Soon after allllll these players and teams called asking if we can do the same thing with them as Jared. He started an amazing movement. We’ve since trained upwards of 1,000 athletes in our Unbreakable MMA Way. We’ve changed some careers but more than anything we forged the greatest fight bonds ever… … All Because of Jared!!!!! So proud to see him up there today, even more proud of seeing him evolve into the greatest husband and dad. Thanks for everything you crazy fuck! This year marks a new era for ALLSHIPS, starting with the launch of the 'Companions' podcast, which you can watch in its entirety right here- featuring a few of my favorite artists- J. N. Growing up, I was taught that the dinner table is the heart of the community. My mother would always tell me that her favorite word was companion, because when you break it down to the latin roots, it means the people you share bread with. Food binds us together. We use it to sustain ourselves and our relationships, to break down the walls that divide us, to create trust and form the bonds that our lives unfold around. We’re in a time where we’ve lost so much connection to the distractions that surround us. Our phones and screens, social media, the relentless torrents of information. There is a hunger for real connection, one I feel deeply within myself, one I see reflected in my closest friends and companions. I’m going to do something about it, by bringing people together to share food, and share ideas- removing distractions and diving into the complex conversations and connections that we so crave. I always find the best conversations happen in the glow after a beautiful dinner. This is the first of many conversations with friends who I will invite to join us on future episodes. I've known each of these humans for a decade now and I consider them family, from our Sony | Alpha collective experiences to trips and experiences working together all over the world. In this conversation filmed last summer we discuss social media, the exponential rise of AI tooling, friendship, love, loss, futurism, technology, and how to best navigate an ever-changing world as creative professionals- among many other things. After a decade of building Broadlume and a year since joining forces with Cyncly, today is my last day. It's emotional, but it's the start of the next chapter. Here's the message I sent my team: I knew this day would eventually come, but now that it's here, it's surreal. As I wrote (and rewrote) this email a hundred times, it was hard not to get emotional. There's no way for me to properly put my thoughts into words… but here we go. There are so many people to thank and so many amazing memories. I am truly grateful for every single person who played a part in this 10+ year journey. For 10 years, I never had the Sunday Scaries or dreaded a single Monday.. not one. I woke up wanting to find out what problems we'd solve together and what milestones we'd celebrate. That feeling is what people spend entire careers searching for. And I got to live it for a decade, thanks to you. Every Monday morning felt like a reunion with friends, not work. I got to wake up and do what I loved, with people I loved working with. But beyond that, the work we did changed an industry. We fought for the small business owner, and that's something I'm incredibly proud of. Our work impacted 4,500 mom and pop flooring retailers across the country. They will forever operate differently because of us, and they'll continue to be taken care of by this incredible team long after I'm gone. We proved that when you take care of your team and treat customers like family, everyone wins. That's the legacy we built together, and one worth being proud of. Now, what comes next for me? I'm going to spend time with my family. Believe it or not, when you give your personal cell phone number out to the entire flooring industry, hours and days can slip away pretty quickly. I want to be present with my wife and two young daughters. My oldest daughter, Amelia, is two and a half, and her world runs on questions. Her favorite: "But why, Daddy?" And I can't wait for the day she asks, "but why did you name me Amelia?" And I'll get to tell her about FloorCon and how our final show was in Amelia Island, FL, right around the time she was born. My youngest, Charlotte, is just three months old. She doesn't know anything about flooring… yet. But I'm excited to explain to her why hardwood is better than LVP, and why she always needs to shop local. And lastly, my wife Jill has been the most patient, supportive, and understanding partner during this journey. I'm excited to just focus on being a dad, husband, and bad golfer for a bit. Working with you was the greatest honor of my professional life. The actual daily experience of being in the trenches, and doing the work together, is what I will always remember. Thank you for trusting me when I didn't know what I was doing. Thank you for following me into uncertainty. And thank you for making Monday, the best day. With love.

Here's the message I sent my team: I knew this day would eventually come, but now that it's here, it's surreal. As I wrote (and rewrote) this email a hundred times, it was hard not to get emotional. There's no way for me to properly put my thoughts into words… but here we go. There are so many people to thank and so many amazing memories. I am truly grateful for every single person who played a part in this 10+ year journey. For 10 years, I never had the Sunday Scaries or dreaded a single Monday.. not one. I woke up wanting to find out what problems we'd solve together and what milestones we'd celebrate. That feeling is what people spend entire careers searching for. And I got to live it for a decade, thanks to you. Every Monday morning felt like a reunion with friends, not work. I got to wake up and do what I loved, with people I loved working with. But beyond that, the work we did changed an industry. We fought for the small business owner, and that's something I'm incredibly proud of. Our work impacted 4,500 mom and pop flooring retailers across the country. They will forever operate differently because of us, and they'll continue to be taken care of by this incredible team long after I'm gone. We proved that when you take care of your team and treat customers like family, everyone wins. That's the legacy we built together, and one worth being proud of. Now, what comes next for me? I'm going to spend time with my family. Believe it or not, when you give your personal cell phone number out to the entire flooring industry, hours and days can slip away pretty quickly. I want to be present with my wife and two young daughters. My oldest daughter, Amelia, is two and a half, and her world runs on questions. Her favorite: "But why, Daddy?" And I can't wait for the day she asks, "but why did you name me Amelia?" And I'll get to tell her about FloorCon and how our final show was in Amelia Island, FL, right around the time she was born. My youngest, Charlotte, is just three months old. She doesn't know anything about flooring… yet. But I'm excited to explain to her why hardwood is better than LVP, and why she always needs to shop local. And lastly, my wife Jill has been the most patient, supportive, and understanding partner during this journey. I'm excited to just focus on being a dad, husband, and bad golfer for a bit. Working with you was the greatest honor of my professional life. The actual daily experience of being in the trenches, and doing the work together, is what I will always remember. Thank you for trusting me when I didn't know what I was doing. Thank you for following me into uncertainty. And thank you for making Monday, the best day. With love.

Pioneers Build Up Society Good Example Global Pioneers, how are you doing? Today is Saturday. I feel very good. From yesterday, I started to change my routine. I don’t use my phone as often, because if we always use the phone, we cannot focus on our daily life. From the monk’s teaching about mindfulness, starting from the morning, I began to practice this, and I feel very good. When I wake up, I have more time. I do massage, clean my home—daily cleaning—do laundry, work out, practice yoga and meditation, and I also have time with my daughter. We go outside together. Actually, outside is very cold. The weather is around 20 degrees centigrade right now. It is about 6:20–6:30 in the evening, and you can see it is very beautiful outside. What I want to share with you is that it is very important to manage our daily life and our priorities. Right now, we really need to focus on our current life, not always put all our time on the phone. For me, before, I spent most of my time on the phone. I read a lot of information, I wrote a lot, and I answered many questions in the groups. But now, you may notice I didn’t post much these two days. This is not because I don’t care. It is because I am busy with my daily life and also spending family time with my daughter. And I think this is what we should pay attention for all pioneers as a good family member and society good example. Because for our GCV community and the Pi Network community, we have many pioneers—10 million, 20 million, 30 million, 40 million, 50 million, 60 million, even 70 million right now. Every pioneer has their own daily life. So how should we think about Pi Network and GCV? As I said before, GCV has already succeeded. But right now, what everyone is waiting for is the Pi Network full open success. How can we reach that? Actually, the infrastructure is ready. The technology is ready. GCV is ready. So what is next? I believe the Core Team is still working on compliance and regulation. That part is their responsibility. But for our community, what is most important is unity. Pioneers need to calm down and be patient. If you can participate in building GCV value or the ecosystem, that is very great. If you cannot, it is still okay. Please focus on your daily life and keep yourself healthy and positive. Being healthy, being happy, and having a good relationship with your family is very important. When your family supports you, they support you as a pioneer. And if you do very well as a good example in your family, maybe they will also join as pioneers. This is very important, because in this way we also get support from society to support Pi Network. Right now our goal is Pi Network success soon and long term safety. The Onion Theory of Risk by Marc Andreessen: "I think the single biggest thing entrepreneurs are missing, both on fundraising and how they run their companies, is the relationship between risk and cash. The relationship between risk and raising cash, and then the relationship between risk and spending cash. So I've always been a fan of something that Andy Ratcliffe taught me years ago, which he called the onion theory of risk. Um, which basically is, you can think about a startup like on day one, um, as having every conceivable kind of risk, right? And you can basically just make a list of the risks. And so you've got, you know, founding team risk. You know, do the founders, are the founders gonna be able to work together? Do you have the right founders? You're gonna have product risk. You know, can you build a product? You'll have technical risk, right? Which is maybe you need a machine learning breakthrough or something to make it work. Are you gonna be able to do that? Um, you'll have, you know, launch risk. Will the launch go well? You'll have, you know, market acceptance risk. You'll have revenue risk. A big risk you get into in a lot of businesses that have a sales force is, can you actually sell the product for enough money to actually pay for the cost of sale? So you have the cost of sale risk. If you're a consumer product, you'll have a viral growth risk. Well, you get the thing of viral growth. And so, a startup at the very beginning is basically just this long list of risks. And then the way that I always think about running a startup is also the way I think about raising money, which is it's a process of peeling away layers of risk as you go. And so you raise seed money in order to peel away the first two or three risks. The founding team risk, the product risk, and maybe the initial launch risk. You raise the A round to peel away the next level of product risk. Maybe you peel away some recruiting risk because you get your full engineering team built. Maybe you peel away some customer risk because you get your first five beta customers. And so basically the way to think about it is you're peeling away risk as you go. You're peeling away risk by achieving milestones. And then as you achieve milestones, you're both making progress in your business, and you're justifying raising more capital. And so you come in, and you pitch somebody like us, and you say you're raising a B round. The best way to do that with us is you say, okay, I raised a seed round, I achieved these milestones, I eliminated these risks. As compared to so much of what's happening, especially these days, which is just, my God, let me go raise as much money as I can. Let me go build the fancy offices, let me go hire as many people as I can, and just kind of hope for the best."

The Onion Theory of Risk by Marc Andreessen: "I think the single biggest thing entrepreneurs are missing, both on fundraising and how they run their companies, is the relationship between risk and cash. The relationship between risk and raising cash, and then the relationship between risk and spending cash. So I've always been a fan of something that Andy Ratcliffe taught me years ago, which he called the onion theory of risk. Um, which basically is, you can think about a startup like on day one, um, as having every conceivable kind of risk, right? And you can basically just make a list of the risks. And so you've got, you know, founding team risk. You know, do the founders, are the founders gonna be able to work together? Do you have the right founders? You're gonna have product risk. You know, can you build a product? You'll have technical risk, right? Which is maybe you need a machine learning breakthrough or something to make it work. Are you gonna be able to do that? Um, you'll have, you know, launch risk. Will the launch go well? You'll have, you know, market acceptance risk. You'll have revenue risk. A big risk you get into in a lot of businesses that have a sales force is, can you actually sell the product for enough money to actually pay for the cost of sale? So you have the cost of sale risk. If you're a consumer product, you'll have a viral growth risk. Well, you get the thing of viral growth. And so, a startup at the very beginning is basically just this long list of risks. And then the way that I always think about running a startup is also the way I think about raising money, which is it's a process of peeling away layers of risk as you go. And so you raise seed money in order to peel away the first two or three risks. The founding team risk, the product risk, and maybe the initial launch risk. You raise the A round to peel away the next level of product risk. Maybe you peel away some recruiting risk because you get your full engineering team built. Maybe you peel away some customer risk because you get your first five beta customers. And so basically the way to think about it is you're peeling away risk as you go. You're peeling away risk by achieving milestones. And then as you achieve milestones, you're both making progress in your business, and you're justifying raising more capital. And so you come in, and you pitch somebody like us, and you say you're raising a B round. The best way to do that with us is you say, okay, I raised a seed round, I achieved these milestones, I eliminated these risks. Last night I joined Black male leaders from around the county to support Vice President Harris to be the next President. Voting is a business decision for me that isn’t emotional. My humanity is on the line with the policies presented by Trump. I don’t believe in blind loyalty, so I can both support Vice President Harris and challenge her administration when she is elected. I believe that we are in a moment where the world seeks to divide Black people. Too many join in that because social media gives you a platform to do it. I’ve decided my life to advancing Black people, poor people, and marginalized people so I’m not willing to play with my people or gamble my vote. If you in my comments saying you won’t vote, that’s like spitting in my face. I do this work everyday to advance communities and so much could change if we did one simple thing and show up for the RIGHT people. If we voted down ballot so that not just democrats but progressives minded democrats could get elected. The median age of America is 38.5. I happen to be 38 for a few more week. It’s time we start acting like the adults in the room and do what must be done. I’ve never met the Vice President, I don’t get invited to the cookouts. I know people who know her though and they speak of the human, not the elected official. What I ask you to remember is we have people who can talk to these people in ways we don’t on the other side. That matters. We have the opportunity to make history and push for good work to be done to progress this nation. 🐿 Also, thanks to all of you, I’m really happy that this year too we can seriously try doing 6K together again. I talked about it on Fromm as well, but World Vision was really, really grateful, and ATINY also felt really happy about it. We’ll do it again this year, right? We will do it again this year. That really had a big impact on me. When we first went there and talked, they said that with the money raised last year through World Vision’s clean water project, they actually went to Africa themselves and worked on digging wells. Someday, I really want to try doing that myself too if I get the chance - they went and did that. Those kids, even just walking 6KM is hard, but the distance itself isn’t safe, so strangers or other people sometimes attack the children. And because that road is so dangerous, they can’t go at night. So they have to go during the day, which means they can’t go to school. Because they can’t attend classes, and without classes, when those children grow up, it becomes harder to do other kinds of work, since they lack basic education - so things like that happen in a chain reaction. So opportunities become fewer for the children. That’s why they dig wells right next to the school, so the kids can safely attend all their classes and then collect water before going home - that’s what they said, and after hearing that… I was already interested in it, but more than I expected, I realized, “Wow, we really spent two years together doing a campaign that truly helped create a good atmosphere in that community.” Thinking about it like that made me feel really good. 🐿 This time, you probably saw it - I did - but before, through the Dream Wings Club, I separately selected a few children and supported a certain number of them. But honestly, what I didn’t know exactly was whether those kids knew me. I wasn’t sure if they knew that I was the one supporting them. I supported kids who were doing arts and sports, and those kids grew up and started winning awards - even awards overseas. They showed me in a report how their dreams were used, how much they achieved for their dreams, and although you can’t really measure dreams in percentages, they showed how close they got to their first set goals - so I felt really touched. And during the event - the day before yesterday’s event - in the middle of it, one child gave a congratulatory message, and another child performed a dance to our song, so when I saw that, I felt really moved. 🐿️ Still, thanks to ATINY, after debuting and working hard, I share the love I received from ATINY back to ATINY, but the thought of trying something small that I could do for other places too came to me with a really proud feeling. So I thought that I should become an even better person. Seeing that things actually changed through the things I participated in made me think, “Maybe I really can become a better person.” Thinking like that myself felt really good to me too. So I think that’s what it is - there’s just something about things like that. 🐿 This year too, while we have fun and enjoy doing various things together, if there are good deeds that I come to learn about and want to do together, I’ll look into them carefully and find ways we can do them together. But only within a range that doesn’t create pressure - you don’t have to think, “Hongjoongie is doing it, so I have to do it too!” There’s no need to feel that way. Just, if you think, “Oh? Hongjoongie told us about this, and it seems like a good thing,” then it might be nice to join in together. That's worth just shy of 5 million pounds before thinking about the machinery, houses and other assets. That's a small just about viable farm 550 acre farm. That's alot of assets but the farm is poor. There's not much pennies in the bank. When my employer dies his sons will have to pay 2 ½ million in tax to inherit the farm roughly ( I failed gcse maths by the way 😅) This simply isn't a number any farm can afford. The only way to pay that is crippling loans that his sons can't afford to pay back or to sell half the farm. If you sell half the farm. The farm isn't worth farming at 250 acres Can't make a living on half of their farm. So they would sell the lot. That then means in the first instance 5 jobs are lost. The future generations without a job. That's not taking into consideration the agronomist who is the crop doctor. Or the accountant who keeps the accounts in order. The seed and chemical companies who sell us the products. The Mills who use our wheat. The list goes on. This will happen to the majority of farming in the next 30 years because the average age of a farmer is in their 60s. We will see a total decimation of British farming. While I will never own a farm or inherit a farm this still effects me. The industry I've Been in since I could walk may vanish. Some monster sized farms like James Dysons will stand. But not the humble family farm. When I work on a family farm, I'm part of the family. We laugh together, talk about our lives, our family, we help each other out where we can. 12 months ago i was surviving on tuna cans in Dubai this was the disgusting 12m² apartment I got kicked out for unpaid rent today I'm making $62K+/month from AI & live wherever I want in September 2024, i paid $4,000 to flew to Dubai for Hassan Haider's mastermind thinking I'd network for 3 days and go home what happened next was the most unhinged year of my life on day 1 I had a Closer Cartel sales interview at 12 AM Dubai time while staying at Paramount Hotel 1 AM: went to the balcony and met two men in their 40s first time I'd ever talked to actual millionaires they had yachts, showed me pictures with Real Madrid footballers, chain smoking on the top floor bars until 4 AM as a naive kid fresh out of college, i was completely enchanted by these guys they gave me the "sell me this pen" test on the spot - i remember nailing it half drunk lmao they were impressed enough to spend hours with me, showing off their lifestyle, promising rolexes, talking about making me rich after ONE conversation with these strangers, my 21-year-old brain made the most impulsive decision of my life: abandoned my entire US setup to move to Dubai permanently and join them on their venture of 'commodity trading' i thought i'd found my ticket to the top i didn't even attend a single mastermind event I paid $4,000 originally for my parents lost their fucking minds the household was in complete chaos for months thought I was getting scammed by "retarded people" I'd just met the honeymoon phase in dubai lasted exactly 14 days. then reality hit... these "mentors" were complete amateurs one was an alcoholic who'd be supportive one day, then threaten me the next would threaten me over 200 dirhams ($50) convinced me to invest my entire $4,000 net worth in commodity trading told me he had CIA connections who'd "take me down" as a 21-year-old dependent on visa sponsorship, these threats felt like death sentences a year later, still haven't seen that money back spent months trying to broker copper cathode, crude oil, gold deals worth tens of thousands thinking I'd make $50K commissions that would solve everything none of the deals ever closed just endless paperwork leading nowhere we were all inexperienced amateurs pretending to be commodity traders the survival period was insane my relationship w/ the landlord broke down when I couldn't pay rent for 2-3 weeks, i survived on 1-2 cans of tuna daily lost 22 pounds, went from 67kg to 57kg all my credit cards were over limits, all debit accounts negative, rent in dallas was overdue literally "live or die trying" mentality for 3 days couldn't even go back to my place had to go to bars and pick up different women just to have somewhere to sleep one from Iran, one from Eastern Europe, third i don't remember meanwhile i'm still trying everyday to make cash - training people at the gym, doing random gigs for anything get money in yet funnily enough despite being financially broke, i somehow maintained access to exclusive social circles would be invited to private superyachts with 7 millionaires and 30-40 Russian, Ukrainian, Swedish supermodels private mansion parties in Marina Bay the contrast i'd see on a day by day was surreal: one day surviving on tuna cans, next day in the burj khalifa at 3am at a girls place overlooking the business bay, then 4 hours later, i'm in my shoebox room the entire experience in dubai definitely taught me more lessons about life than i ever would watching a podcast or reading a book i learnt that personal energy & charisma matter more than financial status if i could access the highest social circles while being completely broke, then what can i not do? meanwhile, I was working remotely for Ticketmaster with massive timezone conflicts - getting warnings for poor performance daily.
