Man I'm always impressed with seeing how a complex rig can really bring a model to life. I feel like both organic and mechanical models have their own challenges.

They do indeed. Organic leans heavier into tissue simulation and weight painting whereas hard-surface leans more into mechanical design.

Hyperion was designed to be mechanically plausible, being mainly driven by pistons and other recognisable pieces. I was keen on maintaining a grounded look for Hyperion. I love the small details we were able to add of objects being pushed out of the way by the rigs movement. Hyperion is a very heavy asset, because of this, we built a LOD system into the rig to enable animators to work fluidly with the character at the different stages of production. You don't always need to work with the highest quality version of your asset, especially at the earlier stages of a shot/production. Having LODs allows animators to work more efficiently by choosing the level of detail they want to work with directly in the rig. I modelled the head, face, and battle mask for Optimus Prime for #Transformers ROTB. I also designed his new "centurion" open battle mask look along with it's animation. The director wanted the face to resemble the face from the 2007 Transformers film as ROTB was a soft-prequel to it but also wanted it to be tweaked to fit the new design and for us to give it some new unique features. This is where we came up with the new mask design which doesn't get entirely hidden when open. Instead, it gets stored on the side of his cheeks, like a Roman centurions helmet. The head design is derived from his model from the 2018 Bumblebee film to keep some consistency with that film too as ROTB was also a soft-sequel to Bumblebee. There are new pieces, adjusted proportions, and reworks to detailing in ROTBs version. The face proportions are modified from the 2007 face to be a lot wider and beefier, matching his new head shape and look. I redesigned and built the eyes from scratch using our kitbash pieces like I did for all the Maximals and Mirage. The studio decided against going for the holographic eyes look from the 2018 Bumblebee film but rather wanted a more simple look in between the 2007 and the 2018 eyes. I added a lot of small mechanical details to his battle mask animation which we unfortunately never get to see in the film. For example, I designed a fully functional mechanism which pushes his chin piece back when his mask closes. This was very cool when it was visible, our Animation Director and VFX Supervisors were super excited about it, but unfortunately no shot showed it off in the final film. It was a lot of fun to help model and design Optimus Prime for this film. I'm happy I got to contribute to such an iconic character. Zack Snyder: "When you make a movie, a lot of times you take a second camera, and if the actors are talking, you stick a second camera in there to try and get a close up or something like that to make it move along faster. "That second camera normally suffers a little bit in its composition design just because it's not the primary focus, but for this movie, it's a one camera show." Larry Fong: "His shots are so designed, so it's hard to kind of get a B camera just somewhere to get another shot. He won't use it. When you're doing 180 degree dolly moves and stuff, I mean, where do you put the other camera? "It's great for me because that means I can make each shot the way I want it to without compromising, which you usually do when you have two."

Optimus Primal was one of the fan favourites from Transformers Rise of the Beasts and also one of our heaviest characters. As the leader of the Maximals and the most popular character from Beast Wars it was important to get him to feel brutish and powerful but also recognisable. We had really good concept art with several different directions which the studio wanted us to explore. We spent a lot of time trying out different looks for him, experimenting with different levels of wear and tear, rust, and looks for his synthetic fur. I served as the Character Lead and was responsible for the Primary Texturing and Look Development as well as the Modeling of the eyes and their lighting setup. I am very happy with how the character turned out in the film and fans reactions to seeing him on the big screen for the first time.

The reason Ruben Amorin needed “legs or ground eater” was because he never believed in players playing close to one another and keeping the ball for a long time. We often launched the ball to our strikers to beat press, he did the same at Sporting CP with Gyokeres and that caused our team needing to run so much because when we lose the second ball, we were in trouble.. It’s more about athleticism to him than techniques.. He never wanted players that are comfortable on the ball instead he likes players that can pick long passes so they can move the ball as quickly forward as possible and that’s why he never rated Mainoo.. Now Carrick has a different approach to football which is for players to play close to one another, take regulated and calculated risk instead of throwing the ball in the air at every chance which limits his need for “ground eaters” and increases his needs for actual ballers, guys that are comfortable on the ball and know how to pass it at the same time.

I work with a lot of infielders that do not understand the speed of the game and the internal clock you must have. 1st ball SS slows his feet which slows the arm down and almost throws ball away. 2nd ball doesn’t make the same mistake. They practice at a certain speed, which translates to the game. Every line time in this video is under 4.4. Put your infielders on the stop watch at practice. Challenge them to be under or at a certain time. Start at 4.5 and work down. Call out every time so they know if they are rushed or have time. The internal clock is one of the most important parts an infielder can have!!

[Part 10] The side of Taehyung hyung's determination to never give up on his goal: Even with foot injury *the person received permissions to post* 👤In military bootcamp, there is something called a physical fitness test that is held every 2 weeks. The physical fitness test consists of 3 rounds, with the third round results being officially logged into the system. I am from a fitness background and so push ups and sit ups were very easy for me. But the running was a problem. The running category is for 3km. I got 2nd grade in the first round and 1st grade in the second round. To get Special Grade, you have to finish within 12 mins and 30 secs. For Elite Trainee eligibility, you must rank Grade 1 or above, which is below 13 mins and 20 secs. So although many people tried, most of them failed due to the running portion. Taehyungie hyung also kept getting Grade 2 in both the first and second rounds. He needed Grade 1, but his stamina but his stamina wasn't keeping up. That time he tols me, "I thought my stamina is great because I've been dancing for more than 10 years, but it hit me pretty hard to find it isn't like that." That's because Taehyungie hyung had a problem on his soles of his feet. There was even one time when his feet hurt so much that he couldn't keep running. However, in the final test even with his feet hurting so much, he managed to finish in Grade 1. So he said, whenever he ran, he could feel a shooting pain from his feet. So we got a meeting with the policy makers, Anne Conrad, who is the head of another division, I don't have his title here right now, and two other women that play important role in the FDA and we presented all of the facts about our findings on school lunches, fast food, loaded cereal. We gave them initial preliminary studies on baby food and Girl Scout cookies and gluten-free food, which we are still processing those results, but they are very toxic and it's very upsetting. So we gave them preliminary results and we talked about the fact that they are the ones, they are the policymakers and decision makers to make sure that people have access to safe, non-toxic, nutrient-dense food. And they kept talking about how, you know, they are doing this, they are doing that. We're very glad not envy them their jobs. This is a very difficult job that they have. Okay. They kept mentioning how they have to stay in their lanes. And you know, the EPA has their regulations, like they set the regulatory limits. For example, 30,000 parts per billion of glyphosate that's allowed on wheat, right, which is ridiculously high. So they, the EPA sets the limits and the FDA regulates and they do the testing to make sure that the food doesn't exceed those limits. And I brought up the fact that they're, they could be doing a better job For instance, out of the top 25 most widely used herbicides, I saw the list back when I was on the Organic Products Advisory Board for the Secretary of Agriculture in California as a consumer representative. I looked at the list of what the FDA was testing for, what the California FDA was testing for, and what the top 25 most widely used herbicides that are used in America, what they are. And the FDA was only testing for two of them. FDA was only testing for three of them. And they were coming out with reports saying, well, 98% of the samples, the 1,200 samples, for instance, that we tested for did not exceed the EPA's regulatory limits for residues, right, for pesticide residues. Yeah, but if, you can't say 98% of the samples did not exceed the regulatory limits. If you're only testing for two out of the top 25 pesticides, you guys get what I'm talking about here, that is misleading. So we brought that up again to them. — So we are going to be calling for a meeting where the EPA, the FDA, the USDA all work together to create a safer food supply and to stop shirking their responsibilities and pointing in the other direction that the other people are responsible. We need to do major mental health, physical health, and reproductive health issues because of the toxins in the food supply. So please stay tuned. We will tell you what the results of this is. We are going to be following up with them with the data. — We need to be coming back here and holding them to account because God knows the chemical companies are spending millions and millions of dollars to have lobbyists telling them these chemicals for as a tool. And the FDA was only testing for two of them. FDA was only testing for three of them. And they were coming out with reports saying, well, 98% of the samples, the 1,200 samples, for instance, that we tested for did not exceed the EPA's regulatory limits for residues, right, for pesticide residues. Yeah, but if, you can't say 98% of the samples did not exceed the regulatory limits. If you're only testing for two out of the top 25 pesticides, you guys get what I'm talking about here, that is misleading. So we brought that up again to them. — So we are going to be calling for a meeting where the EPA, the FDA, the USDA all work together to create a safer food supply and to stop shirking their responsibilities and pointing in the other direction that the other people are responsible. They are also most likely fed at home, so when they attack something it's usually out of instinct and not hunger - which helps along their "kill for fun" reputation.

Jim Jarmusch on why editing is similar to sculpting & how he wanted "Dead Man" (1995) to feel like: "Interviewer: Are you the kind of director who finds the film in the cutting room or do you do the montage in your head as you shoot? Jarmusch: I’m in-between. When | go in the cutting room, I have a pretty good idea of how a scene was intended to be cut together. The editing is very important because you get to a Zen-like place where the film starts telling you how to cut it. A lot of scenes were shot for 'Dead Man' that are not in the film. Shooting is like cutting up big pieces of granite that are sort of in the right shape of the thing you want to sculpt out of them. And then you go back, and the shape is not exactly what you had in mind so you sculpt them some more. I like the process. That’s why I never use a storyboard, and on 'Dead Man' I didn’t even have shot lists in advance. I don’t want to know in advance what we’re going to do because then we are not thinking on our feet. Interviewer: How did you work out the conception of the film’s look with DP Robby Miiller? It’s a black-and-white film with lots of shades of gray. And the landscapes were quite ugly but beautifully so. Jarmusch: We worked hard to use black and white like it was used in the ’30s and ’40s when the gray scale was the color palette. We wanted to avoid the recent “hard” black-and-white look, although the blacks are very black and the whites are very white. We wanted a feeling like a film by Mizoguchi. And when we were scouting for locations, whenever we saw any magnificent view, like a postcard type, we would appreciate it, Robby and I, and then turn out backs and look for our location with that out of view."
