Out of curiosity, why did you start this project? To see how far you could push a Minecraft like if optimized? Or is there a different motive?

I wanted to do something that nobody else can to the same degree.

"that nobody else can to the same degree", I guess you say that because most other people with this kind of knowledge are subject to deadlines and have to work according to company tools etc? Or is it more of a "most don't know how to do this" sort of thing?

The difference between a solo dev working only in his free time and a team of full time gamedevs with a deadline evens out. However, my outsider knowledge is potentially more valuable than the knowledge taught within gamedev circles.

What do you mean with "outsider knowledge"? Or to be more specific, what would make it more valuable? I guess if you work in stuff like FinTech (like trading), where speed is of the utmost necessity, I can somewhat make out what you mean.

Deep specialization in gamedev creates an echo chamber of inherited assumptions and mental models. Real breakthroughs require an outsider to shatter that frame.

I hope a Dreamcast port gets made. Probably would have to be a 32mb modded version.

Could this be implemented on a 3ds

In theory, it can, but I have limited resources.

Omg yes I wanna load this on my Wii right now and add looking rotational controls for the Wiimote if it doesn't have that already. Like how Portal 2 on steamdeck can aim subtly with the gyro

i wanna help

I remember early in the project you said you wouldn’t release it until it had morphed from Minecraft into its own thing, did something change or am I misremembering?

2025 was a slow year, so I decided to just release it in an early state before GTA 6. Now I'm targeting biweekly releases. Morphing this project into its own game is still on the roadmap.

Any way we can do custom texture packs?

It's available on the GameCube release. For the Wii, custom texture packs will come in a later release version.

Is it possible to get this as far as you can go, like full on survival and sound and such?

Is redstone planned?
