I was just talking to a guy about this yesterday. He's a fisherman from Beaver Dam and he said his trout creek dried up (there was a drought this summer) and then when the water came back it was milky and foamy and no fish. META owes Beaver Dam an explanation.

What most dont understand is that China has a full media blitz to try and halt US data center development. They are flooding social media with false narratives about these developments. Do your own research and realize that we need these data centers to compete on a global scale.

From what I know and understand, data centers are closed loop systems. Literally no place uses open loop to "steal water" etc... stop and think... youd be pulling in sand etc.. and youd have SO many issues with clogged filtering etc... Now Im no fan of data centers but lets not do this fear stuff. It is VERY illogical and impractical to use open loop water systems. Period.

This is what happens when you put corporate profits before people, or even clear thinking. These data centers harm the environment and people's lives. But, what they don't do is fix the current compute shortage. They take years to build and bring online. And they keep compute expensive and inaccessible. The fix is distrbuted compute. And that's available now.

Ummm. Maybe some of that is true…but in reality most of these data centers have their own pools of water, and sources of power so as NOT to hurt the grid. There is a lot of LACK OF EDUCATION here w/respect to this so it’s time @StephenM @vp do a presser or live speech on this.

The closed loop liquid-cooled dry cooling system. (75% water/25% glycol)

Show me proof! I call BS! My husband, now retired, built data centers in Dan Jose, CA. They do NOT use that much water! These are environmental agitators, stirring up bullshit! Again, SHOW Me proof!!

Wisconsin must change its government 'representatives,' who don't represent. No one has a problem with data centers when done responsibly - protect the fresh water aquifers with removal of the forever chemicals/toxins, ameliorate to living levels of noise. The 'Superfund sites' across America identify what the consequences of doing it without the protections - over decades. And respnsibly protecting the fresh water aquifers is not prohibitive; it is vital.

No data centers in Montana and our soil and water is contaminated with aluminum, barium and strontium. Its geoengineering. Look it up

Tired of hearing this shit. & ppl wonder why we have problems w data centers— bc these fuckers are NOT building them right!! Going for the cheapest way possible which is actually destructive to the environment & ppl around it. It DONT need to be like that. They need to fix their shit. We got the wrong assholes building some of these things & it’s annoying af

The WI DNR could not confirm the source of the water issues. There is an operational quarry nearby, which is conveniently forgotten because the term Data Center gets more clicks and is easier to blame in this political environment.

Unfortunately dictators and tech billionaires need AI for mass surveillance and robot army training. A repressive dictator could use a fully autonomous robot army to maintain absolute control without needing human soldiers who might empathize with citizens.

Built on farmland. The LAST thing I want to see littering the countryside in my beautiful home state. And tell me…Why are these gargantuan data centers so important in the first place?

If it's still under construction how is it doing all that to existing water?

INTELLIGENCE. It's going to be the death of us.

how does a government body sign a NDA to keep info from it citizens ????? only in a dictatorship or communist countries.

Not sure how a data center consumes water before it’s built and operating. Sounds like it has everything to do with construction (could be any large warehouse) and nothing to do with the operation of a data center….

Construction runoff and blasting can mess up local creeks and wells aluminum spikes match concrete work, not servers drinking the water.

@CharlesGrooms All of These Data Center and Flock Camera’s need to be Shoved up the A$$ Of All who approved them.

We MUST have data centers. Yes, they need regulation Yes, they need to provide their own resources Yes, they need to contribute to communities they’re close to But We MUST have them You’re being manipulated by outside nations and democrat communist

Stop with the fake information. Data centers draw large amounts of water only when they start up but afterwards they only replace evaporation (which is equal to a few area restaurants). Realize China wants a monopoly on these centers!

Lmfao retarded foid complains about data centers because democrats told them to complain about data centers

Get ready folks. This is their plan.

Chinese cuck! Stop spreading propaganda Build data centers as fast as possible.

In a normal society, this would never happen. But in a deregulated, we don't give a d*** about people or their health society, it's fine.

Sounds like fake news.

We The People ⚔️ The Big Club

Let’s face it…YEARS of being lied to, bamboozled, screwed, and arrogantly dismissed by yacht-flexing tech titans has reached a public crescendo. Tech is peak hated by the general public. JUST at a time when tech is seeking sympathy and approval to spend trillions in CAPEX on data centers. Fight will be ugly, long, costly, unproductive, and totally predictable.

How is it even possible that he knows nothing of this data center?

These are the same maroons that went crazy over fracking.....just idiots

Even when we run out of water, nothing will stop “progress”.

Meta needs to pay for the damages to the community.

People all over the World are in the same boat. DATA Centers have to be part of some Massive Weapons Center they way they are feverishly be installed everywhere. That's all gov's care about. Fuck your water & Health.
