This mother said all she got for Mother’s Day was Happy Mother’s Day texts from her 18 and 20 year old kids. So she said she is going to match their energy and when it comes time she is just going to text them Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday this year and that’s it. She said she’s not complaining and loves them to death but she is ready to meet them where they are at now in their life. She said she is sick of going above and beyond for them and basically getting nothing in return. So no more whatever they want gifts, no more money, etc. Sounds a little bit to me like complaining. 🤷‍♂️ What do you think? Do you think she’s right in handling it this way? Do you think that’s a fair way to handle it? Or do you think she’s overreacting and they are just typical young adults? Do you do things for your kids expecting the same in return?

Met an incredible young man named Brendan today and had the chance to hear a bit of his story. Veteran Lindsey Foulk—whose husband Chris is a Pennsylvania State Trooper—has a message she hopes will reach Governor Josh Shapiro in the wake of PA State Trooper Michael Pahira’s senseless death. Foulk wants Shapiro to step up and provide the police with more support, especially after he looked her in the eyes and said he’d do everything he could “to take care” of them. Pahira was struck and killed by a commercial vehicle driven by a Haitian illegal alien as he conducted a vehicle safety inspection on I-81 in Schuylkill County last week. Foulk—who met Shapiro at a Veterans Day lunch event at the Governor’s Residence—explains that relaying this message to Shapiro is “very important” to her, as even her father was in law enforcement. “You had said to me, ‘If there’s anything that I can ever do for you, or your husband, please don’t hesitate to reach out.’ So, I’m reaching out now,” Foulk begins as she speaks directly to Shapiro, referencing a conversation they had at the luncheon. “My husband also does commercial inspections for Pennsylvania,” she shares, after describing how Pahira was hit and killed fulfilling the same duty for the Commonwealth. “I just want you, Gov. Shapiro, to just consider: can you please reopen some weigh stations? The state says that these inspections are really important; however, I don’t feel that they’re taking them seriously enough. That’s why even though nights are really hard for me right now, even though I feel anxious, when I think about releasing an album next year and being with you all again, jumping around and having fun together, my mood already lifts So I say to myself, Next year I have to at least see this before I die, not to speak lightly about death but as a kind of joke. I think, Even if I’m sick, I have to see your faces before I’m sick. I live day by day with that feeling. That’s why I want to work better too, and I believe everything I see, hear, and feel now will help with our next album and whatever I do in the future. 🐨 So sometimes when I can’t sleep, or work, or just life itself feels terrifying. It’s scary—just the act of living. There are times when the fact that this life goes on day after day feels really frightening. Because every day you have to feed yourself, you have to do things, and so life and death, the fact that morning comes and another day starts, it can feel wonderful at times, but there are also parts of life where it presses down on you, like a kind of light depression. This feeling that you have to keep doing something every single day In the end, that’s why it’s important to have your own sphere, your own beliefs, hopes, and goals.
