When done well it can look great, no doubt! AC:Shadows comes to mind as well from what I've seen.

Lukewarm take on my circles. Some of us agree that ray tracing is just a waste of computer power because light doesn’t naturally do that.

Obviously RT isn't always the right choice. The art needs to be made with ray tracing in mind like Doom The Dark Ages.

Ray Tracing vs Path Tracing in #PRAGMATA . Path Tracing looks stunning, no doubt, but do we really need it for basic effects like casting a shadow or adding shading beneath the car? Or to properly shade characters’ faces? I think the answer is a clear NO.

I might be wrong, but I don't think I'm wrong. I think before video was subordinated to life and so actually capture it. But I think it reflexivity changed it and normal life is subordinated to video, even if no one is filming. Something was lost.
