Let's settle this argument; Is Ray Tracing worth it and do you notice a tangible difference between these two clips?

The water looks more clear with RT, but no RT looks perfectly fine and realistic enough.

Even at 360p it’s noticeably different my guy

I uploaded this in max 1080p quality though feel free to check it on my YT Channel here too:

I can tell the difference but not worth the 30fps drop when I’m trying to push 165hz tbh

This is honestly a great comparison. The water effects are obviously better with Ray Tracing but at this point I don't thing it takes away from the immersive experience enough to be considered required.

If there is no performance loss then ray trace is dope. If it makes it goto 50FPS i turn it off immediately.

Use games like CP2077 to showcase it, not JEDI SURVIVOR. Which happens to be in unoptimised too.

Wow insane, the difference is so clear. 😔👍

It's rarely worth it today, depending on the game, but it's 100% the technology of the future once hardware catches up.

Ray tracing is the future of realtime lighting! It looks better, it’s far more realistic and it’s a LOT easier for game devs to implement than the traditional lighting.
