So the discourse around this Dave Ramsey clip is so mixed up that I’ve just decided to upload the whole thing. In the full context of the call, the caller makes it perfectly obvious that: 1. She has been with this man, whom she is now living with, for six years. 2. She is a nurse and can make her own money. 3. She has been out of school for two years, and in that time she has paid off $70,000 of the debt. In the course of the call, Dave never suggests that this man should have to pay for that debt. Indeed, he actively suggests that she leave him, which guarantees he will not pay for the debt. Dave also all but says that, because of her career choice, the caller will be able to pay for the debt on her own, even if she has to take extra hours. All Dave is saying—and this should have been obvious from the original clip—is that the two are not aligned on money and debt at all. It is also clear that Dave thinks the man is stringing her along, which he is. So they simply should not be married at all, because this is a fundamental failure in the relationship. I myself would add that, at this late stage in the relationship, if you do not trust a woman financially, you should simply not be with that woman. And that is perfectly fine. But what you do not do is drag her along for six years when she obviously wants to get married, and then put another two or three years of financial hoops in front of her so that maybe you will propose. It is a waste of everybody’s time.

Right now globally, as we speak, we've got basically about sixty to eighty days. If you just shut down oil everywhere, the world has on the water and in reserves about two months of oil. So every day that we have twenty-two percent going through the strait shut down, it's drawing down slowly all strategic reserves and the oil that's on the water in tankers. If this is going to be a prolonged situation, it'll be bad outcome. In talking just with investors as a result of this war, we're gonna be spending a whole ton of money on new inexpensive drone technology and a ton of money on AI because this war has all been done using technology. This is a tech war and it gives you a kind of an idea of what it would look like if China acted up and they wanted to take out Taiwan. We've got to get ready with more AI.

Asked on his opinion on what should done with Marko Rupnik’s artwork, Pope Leo XIV says: “Certainly in many places, precisely because of the need to be sensitive to those who have presented cases of being victims, the artwork has been covered up, artwork has been removed from websites. So that issue is certainly something that we're aware of. A new trial has recently begun, judges were appointed and processes for justice take a long time. I know it is very difficult for the victims to ask that they be patient but the Church needs to respect the rights of all people. The principle of innocent until proven guilty is also true in the Church, and hopefully this trial that is just beginning will be able to give some clarity and justice to all those involved.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I appreciate any negative press that Arte Moreno gets. He’s earned all of it. I wish the national media would cover more of what’s going on with the Angels. I’m not saying it would make him sell, but it would at least bring more attention to how things are being run. Around baseball and the sports world, people should know how poorly this team has been run. I know profits matter, but winning should still be a priority. This fanbase is tired of losing and ready for change. I’ve been a fan since the mid 90s going to games with my dad, and I know others have been around much longer while some are newer. No matter how long you’ve been a fan, we all want the same thing, ownership that actually cares about winning and does what it takes to turn this around. We can build systems that are able to cope with very high load, even if the individual components are just fairly cheap commodity machines. The scalability story is not just scaling up, but scaling down as well. How do you run a service in such a way that if it has a very small amount of load, it's really cheap to run? That's sort of the same question as ‘how do you continue running a service if it has a very high load?’ Generally, you want the cost and the computing capacity to be roughly proportional to the load that you have and at the low end, that means actually being able to scale down to something that is extremely cheap to run. That's not necessarily a given. It's something that is hard with on-premises software because if you've got a physical machine, that is a unit of deployment. Yes, you could carve it up into two dozen virtual machines, but it still requires some sort of resource allocation. And so, part of what's interesting about some serverless systems, is their ability to scale down and say ‘okay, if you're going to handle just three requests per day, that's just fine as well’”.

This is not the only vision for what it looks like to have politics in this country—that is so divorced from the needs and wants of everyday people. And what we are looking to show in New York City is an alternative to what has led so many to become disenchanted with the political process. We want to show that not only can government work, but it must, and that at its core, our responsibility is to working people—to ensure that we’re doing everything to make their lives easier. That has to be what drives our actions, and for too long, government has felt more like a distraction than a fulfillment of the needs of the people who’ve been left behind by the politics of today.
