It’s true. Rules and regulations keep people in poverty because they cannot escape the system without hardship and few are willing to due so. Our education system reinforces this mentality.

RIGHT NOW THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKSTERS ARE TAKING 19% OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET AND THAT'S ONLY TO COVER THE INTEREST ON THE NATIONAL DEBT IT DOES NOT EVEN PUT A DENT INTO THE FEDERAL DEBT ITSELF. I do note that countries in Europe that have a stronger welfare state have surveys that report a happier population that lives longer. Would really like for those who agree with Friedman to put up some statistics that compare countries and let’s see what the numbers say.
