These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I was a nurse working 12 hours plus a day. I wish I had these shoes when I was working. Now I have 4 pairs.

This is THE elite exercise for hip mobility: (Especially if you sit at a desk all day) It’s called 90/90 It’s my all time favorite mobility drill for internal and external rotation of the hip Sit on the ground with both legs at 90° (This alone may already be a good stretch for you) Then begin to lean forward to deepen the stretch Key here is actively pressing your front knee and ankle into the ground while simultaneously raising your back ankle off the ground Hold in that active stretch for a slow 5 seconds then release That is one rep Repeat 5-10 reps each side

Saturday mornings are for hip mobility routines. Free them of the tension gathered during the week. You'll be more relaxed for your weekend and will protect your joints over the long run. This routine relieves the stress gathered in your hips: Do one after the other and rest for two minutes. 1 - Cossack Squats [ 3 x 10/leg] You might need to hold onto something if you have no hip mobility. Go as far down as your body allows and feel the stretch. Watch how your range of motion improves over time by doing these exercises a few times a week. 2 - Deep Bodyweight Split Squat [ 3 x 10/leg] Keep your torso upright and drive your knee all the way forward. You will feel a stretch along the front of your hip and thigh on the back leg. Use support if you struggle with balance too much. 3 - Deep Squat Twist [ 3 x 10/side] Can you rotate so that your fingers point toward the ceiling? I've seen so many people with chronic pain get stuck way before. If you lack the mobility to twist, hold the deep squat position for thirty seconds to one minute. Grab onto something at the bottom if you can't stay in the position. 4- Seated Wide-Leg Adductor Stretch [ 3 x 30-60s] Sitting with wide legs will be enough for some people to elicit an intense stretch. // Many of the new chronic pain clients I meet should have started a routine like this one decades ago.

Great stretch for people who sit at desks all day or deal with low back pain. It's called the Tactical Frog. One of the most overlooked areas of the lower body is the inner thigh aka. the adductor. Inflexible or weak adductors can reduce hip mobility as well as cause knee and low back pain. Improving your adductors improves your hip mobility, which is crucial for anyone that sits at a desk for long periods of time. How to do this: 1. Start with hands and knees on the ground. Neutral spine with shins on the ground. 2. Spread your knees apart as far as possible 3. Push your butt back to your ankles. Start on your hands first and if you're flexible enough use your forearms for support. With any stretch, you always go where your range of motion allows you to go. Do this for a set of 30-60 seconds daily and breathe while performing it. Your hips will thank you.

Most people with limited hip mobility try to improve it by forcing themselves into deep stretches or mobility positions to improve their flexibility and range of motion. However, this is sometimes counterproductive and there is a better way. Instead of trying to force yourself into a position you can’t access, try start working in the space you do have and then work out from there. Your body will thank you.

A younger guy recently asked me a really smart question: “What’s one thing you’d tell your 30-year-old self to do differently for health & longevity?” This one is a no brainer: I’d invest 5+ hours a week into MOBILITY training. In fact, I’ll take it a step further… EVERYONE—young or older—should replace most of their traditional weight training with mobility work. Stop chasing numbers, adding bulk, and risking injury! Elite mobility guys are ripped, strong as hell, and have unmatched functional fitness. More importantly they stay injury-free. So what’s mobility training? It’s exercise designed to increase: 1) Range-of-motion of joints (not the same as “flexibility”) 2) Functional strength & neuromuscular coordination 3) Skeletal stability (to repair & avoid injury) Yoga and Pilates are forms of mobility training but modern mobility training combines multiple disciplines. Just do a YouTube search and you'll find tons of videos and programs designed to address specific goals or issues (e.g. bad knees). Mobility work allowed me to avoid surgery and recover quickly from a severe back in injury in March. The video below is a basic back program that I do twice a day — it only takes 10 minutes and has been a game-changer. This is just the tip of the iceberg — I plan to go much deeper into mobility and hire a coach (if anyone knows a great one in Boulder LMK). I’m convinced that if I’d discovered mobility training when I was younger I would have avoided 20 years of chronic back issues and performed better athletically. 🤙

We need to fix our broken relationship with Europe. The Liberal Democrats are committed to a better deal for Britain. It starts with moving towards the single market, and supporting a youth mobility scheme that gives young people the freedom to work and travel across Europe.

This stretch should be mandatory for people who sit at desks. It's called a T-Spine Extension. As we get older or if we sit for long periods of time our thoracic spine becomes less mobile. This can cause neck, shoulder, and lower back pain as well as a hunched over croissant type of posture with the body. The T-spine extension helps you stretch your lats and upper back to reverse age or sitting related mobility issues. How to do it: 1. Make sure you're in full elbow flexion in the bottom position. 2. Make a double chin so that you don't drift into forward head posture. 3. As you rock back, brace your core and focus on extending through the upper back and flexing through the shoulders, rather than just arching the lower back. Do this for 6-12 reps daily. Your back will thank you.

The most underrated exercise on the planet is the Bar Hang. But 99% of people don't even do them. Here are 4 powerful reasons to do bar hangs every day: 1. They improve your posture Don't want to look like a croissant? Bar hangs help strengthen & mobilize your upper body. They also provide a constant stretch on the shoulders, back arms & lats. This helps reverse upper body posture defects that come from sitting for too long. 2. They improve your strength Your weight is supported first by the grip of your hand. A good grip improves your performance across all exercises like the pull-up, rows, deadlifts...pretty much any activity requiring a grip. 3. They build stronger shoulders Bar hangs can improve mobility, and strengthen the shoulders & lats while reducing shoulder pain. They stretch the brachial muscles while strengthening the supraspinatus tendon, which is responsible for shoulder strength & endurance. 4. They may help you live longer Grip strength can be a biomarker for your inner age & determines your mobility & strength as you get older. In some studies, decreased grip strength is associated with accelerated biological age. There are 2 ways to do bar hangs: The first is a passive hang (video) Take an overhand grip. Let shoulders & lats relax. Your body should sink with your shoulders touching your ears. Hang there with feet slightly forward, core braced & let your weight passively stretch your shoulders, lats, & back. The second is an active hang. Start in a passive hang. Retract your shoulder blades down and away from your ears. Stop retracting when your ears reach your elbows. Hold for as long as you can. This puts more emphasis on the muscles in your shoulders and back. If you're a beginner aim for 10 seconds to start. Work your way up to one minute and eventually 2 minutes at a time. As long as you're not sore you can do these daily. If you can't hang from a bar you can step on a box at first to help support your weight. Another way is to attach a resistance band to the bar putting while putting your feet on it. Bar hangs are one of the most underrated exercises on the planet especially if you work at a desk. Add these to your daily workouts and experience the benefits.
