Severe thunderstorms have started to develop over parts of north #Rajasthan now. Video from Rawatsar in Hanumangarh district with #hailstorm in the evening. Scattered thunderstorms, hails expected in more districts of N RJ, #Haryana up to #Delhi NCR during night - early morning hours. #Punjab to experience storms during mid night into morning hours tomorrow. On 4th may - tomorrow evening: Fresh intense thunderstorms will develop in plains of north west india which will bring strong winds (50-100km/h), rains and even hails. Will update latest basis development of thundercells and steering.

FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS continue for parts of central and southern Utah today as monsoon moisture brings another round of storms to the region. Goblin Valley State Park is reminding visitors to stay out of canyons when rain is in the forecast, even if the chance appears low. The San Rafael Swell, including Goblin Valley, has faced repeated flash flood threats this week. Check out this visualization of water flowing through rivers in the Lower Mississippi Valley as thunderstorms meandered through the region over the last 24 hours. The Streamflow products included with the MRMS suite from NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory provide a one-of-a-kind way to visualize the evolution of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Streamflow - or how much and how fast water is flowing down rivers - is represented in units of volume per second and is available from 3 different water balance models: CREST, SAC-SMA, and Hydrophobic. 🌡️ Unusually intense May heatwave in Europe This weekend will bring very high temperatures to southwestern, western, and partly central Europe, locally up to 15 °C above the long-term average. The reason is a persistent high-pressure system over Europe, drawing in hot air from North Africa along its western flank and acting as a so-called heat dome. Air in the center of the high sinks and warms, suppressing cloud formation and allowing more solar radiation to reach the surface. As a result, hot air accumulates near the ground and continues to intensify. Temperatures may exceed 30 °C in western and central Europe, and reach up to 38 °C in southwestern Spain. Numerous daily temperature records are expected to be broken.

Snow clearing operations continue on the airfield after 46cm of snow fell at Toronto Pearson. Air traffic management initiatives remain in place to safely manage aircraft movements. The severe winter weather impacted flights to and from Toronto Pearson, and flight schedules may change throughout the day as airlines work to restore normal operations following yesterday’s delays and cancellations. Flights to and from Atlantic Canada and certain parts of the U.S. may be impacted today as the system moves through the region. Passengers are advised to check directly with their airline before coming to the airport. Those travelling to Toronto Pearson should allow extra time and drive safely. For passengers taking the UP Express, please note it is operating every 30 minutes. We will continue to provide operational updates throughout the day.

Iranian semi official media are circulating images from both sites, saying they were struck during Iran’s July 12 attacks and that the imagery confirms the accuracy of its drone and missile strikes. The ongoing record-breaking heat wave in the West will continue while expanding across the Central U.S. through the weekend. Based on preliminary data, there have been around 50 March high temperature records broken since March 17 and more than 150 daily high temperature records broken. Record setting temperatures are expected to continue over the next several days. Most areas will see temperature departures of 25 to 35 degrees higher than normal for this time of year. However, some locations in the central Plains on Saturday could see departures exceed 40 degrees from normal! Overnight low temperatures will also be well above average, providing little relief from the heat. The early time of year, prolonged nature of this heat wave, and limited seasonal acclimation will increase the risk of heat impacts especially among sensitive populations or those without effective cooling. Adjust plans to limit strenuous outdoor activities to early morning hours, drink plenty of fluids, and seek air conditioned spaces. For more heat safety tips visit:
