Extreme heat from the #BabylonFire and other wildfires across Utah and Colorado led to the formation of pyrocumulonimbus clouds earlier this week. These clouds were captured by NOAA’s #GOESWest (#GOES18) 🛰️ over an eight-hour period on July 6. The Babylon Fire has burned over 100,000 acres and is 11% contained.

We just had to share this impressive imagery of severe thunderstorms sweeping across Texas yesterday, captured by NOAA's #GOESEast (#GOES19) 🛰️. The visible imagery reveals fine details within the storms, while the satellite’s Geostationary Lightning Mapper highlights where lightning flashes occurred.
