I completely agree. I was on the services hypetrain for a while, but then I realized a single server binary does the job just fine. And it actually cut down my deployment costs. (One simple VPS!) Now, I do like to use modules in my Gradle build to "decouple" parts that way.

"You can decople your functions without putting sockets in between them". A-fucking-men. Used to work with a guy who thought "decopuling == putting stuff in different freaking processes". Terrible approach, leads to crazy absurd complexity for no reason (unless really necessary).
