4 is default in most things. I stopped giving a shit and just use defaults.

Tabs versus spaces are a matter of semantics. An indent is a tab, a space is just a space, a space between something. The correct indentation is a tab.

I was with the rant until two spaces. That's insufficient indent. Four is too much. 3 is the magic number.

Once again more great memories from uncle Bob. Defined columns assembly language and Fortran when I learned programming. Sometimes I miss those days. Then I also like learning all the new techniques from the evolving advanced languages.

Bar tabs are superior to twitter spaces

Tabs are so much better than spaces. You can set the indent to what you prefer, e.g., 2 or 4 or 8 or change it on the fly. It’s easier to work with indented languages like Python where hunting down space discrepancies is a can be a pain. Less typing is good.
