I'm on the latest stable (for my account at least) Play services 26.33.32 and motion assist is not showing up. Do you know the actual minimum Play Services version for this feature to be active?

Hmmm, I have motion assist on a Pixel with that same version of Play Services - so that should be okay. I'm told that we ramped up the rollout of motion assist today, though, so it's possible your particular device is on the tail end of that rollout.
