Multiple operators confirmed that the Optimus bots at Tesla's event on Friday were remote-controlled. Here are two examples. Both operators used the term "human-assisted" to create a more favorable impression, which suggests they were instructed to use that term. However, since the questions were specifically about remote control, it’s... show more

The real story is that Tesla successfully conducted over 1,000 fully autonomous rides on a closed course without a single issue. This was the Robotaxi unveiling, not mainly an Optimus event. Even assuming the bots were remotely operated, it was still impressive. They still had to pick things up accurately, walk around without falling over, etc. The next-gen Optimus hand with 22 degrees of freedom was displayed. They are making good progress, and we'll learn more in the coming months. Could Elon have been more clear that they were remotely operated? Sure. But focusing on that I think is missing the overall picture here.

I love the responses of the uber fanboys. "So it's fraud, so what? It was awesome man!"

Tesla/Elon Musk like to say things aren't technically/legally lies but 100% give the wrong impression.

There’s a big difference between the human assisted and remote controlled. Without proofs , I think it’s a jump conclusion in saying remote controlled. The bot in the past was showed to make a lots of operations, I guess this presented are basic tasks, probably done with ops view

You will be blocked too for being too naive.

So you are riding on bad news? These give you more likes? how could an US or EU revenue be high, with economies suffering from inflation? And in Germany, has started, on top, an unemployment wave. so you belong to those folks, that only run after figures, leaving out of reconsideration any circumstances under which all companies are fighting to hold the FCs during this present period or better since Q3 2023 til today.

No. I don't monetize my Twitter account and never have. Additionally, I don't trade TSLA in any way and I never talk about the stock. However, I block a lot of people for unnecessary comments.

The crazy part is that some did not realize right away that they were teleoperated. You literally talked to a different dude on the speaker for every bot. And movement was clearly "flawed" like a human, from first glance.

Optimus is in reality years away, a vision of the future. Why not just tell people up front that were demonstrating Optimus flexibility and possibilities ? Now we're left questions on Robotaxi and other products and if it's real or not. Rims were painted/faked too.
