Nice, they didn't collide, didn't cross-path, everyone was positioned in a quite reasonable way. What principle did you use to find this set of paths?

Lots of trial and error, watching lots of GDC talks (the sc2 talk is must watch), and learning. Pen and paper, breaking down the problem into smaller chunks and approaching it from that angle, modularity, avoidance, attraction, no physics, keeping it simple, etc.
