There are working lift on each platform and 3-4 of them ?? why they dint used that ???

Not few feet. One Lift is across the road. 120 metes away. Other lift is 190 meters away Both far away. For this very reason the elderly couple chose to walk down instead

My friend, 1) Assuming you reside in vicinity: Take measure tape. Measure length of the stairs leading down from G (same path seniors took). Compare 120 m w/ your measurements. 2) WALKING AN EVEN SURFACE is EASIER than Climbing down/up for older adults. No? 3) Your solution? .

Yes, mostly only one-way elevators are available at metro stations and even at railway stations. They seem to think that commuters only face problems while going up.

It's a real chindichor execution. One elevator per direction, God knows where on the road that might be out of 3/4 exits Joke of interchanges It's a laughable metro plan and to think it's executed recently is infuriating.

Bro I work on these metros , btw there lifts on each of the entry exit , why they didn't use it ?? It may be a mistake they didn't notice but there are proper lifts elevators in every mumbai metro

Nope. The lifts are over 100 metres away. 2-3 minute walk away. For this reason, the elderly couple decided to climb down. Rather than walk to the lift

The lift is available for elder people ..at least in Pune

Seems to be Sitaladevi Metro Station or Dadar Metro, but this problem is prevalent at many stns. They wont even reverse the direction for the escalator! At Dadar, 2-3 entrances remain closed to public more than a year after the station became operational.

@zoru75 @MMRDAOfficial Sad state of affairs with badly planned entry & exits. May be they want Senior Citizens to check each & every entry /exit to find a lift /escalator. A bit of planning by officials would have certainly made it possible for a better infrastructure.

They probably lost their way and missed the elevators. Stop spreading nonsense. There are elevators for those who are not comfortable using escalators. The elderly couple should have asked someone. Even though there are signs everywhere.

They think people can walk down hence they did not have escalators. If they would used their brains which they rarely use they would thought of the elderly and citizens with physical disability. Senseless government

I have travelled through the Aqua Line multiple times and have seen two way escalators and elevators on all stations.

I've been using the Metro regularly these days and have used Metros in many cities around the world. The Mumbai metro may not be perfect or the best, but it certainly is world class.

There is a lift further ahead. Different sides. Sometimes secret small location. The first time I did not know and my mother also had to walk down 3 flights of stairs.

Expect an overly bureaucratic and unaccountable organisation to miss something as basic. City mayors of global cities get a lot of flak if their new metros delivered such subpar work. So things are done to a better standard.

there's a lift at every station tho? could be clearer with the signs for that tho as it is often on the backside of the entrance

Its also in dubai and many other places. Its mainly designed Preventing Stampedes and Congestion.Gravity makes descending a moving escalator statistically much more dangerous than ascending. If someone trips on an upward escalator, they lean forward into the steps.

There's most definitely a lift somewhere up there which these guys are not aware of. All Aqua Line stations have it.

We are good with announcements, execute our projects poorly, have no control on quality, cost and time and our design thinking ability is warped as the bureaucrat knows it all and best

Thisnis how it is mostly around the world. At subway or metro stations, I say mostly in North America, one way escalators climbing up are found.
