My driver profile should be DELETED. I realized that the more I use FSD, the further back my seat has gone into a lounging position, not great for actual driving when I need to re-park. So, I set a manual driving profile that pushes my seat up and steering... show more

Drove a Self Driving Tesla today in Palm Springs, California for the first time and I am amazed. Literally the car was driving itself for 120 miles and I caught up with my friend sitting in the passenger seat. Loves it.

I just want to put this out there. FSD is worth every penny. My entire family plus my brother, late night driving home from a wonderful trip to Greece, meeting with good friends of Tesla Universe. While on the way home. My husband engaged FSD. Navigated to home. Just left the airport in Denver. I was in the back seat of our model X with both my sons. My husband in the drivers seat my brother in the front passenger seat. I started to doze off suddenly was awoken by the car jerking. Only to see what appeared to be a driver of the other car falling asleep at the wheel. It was sometime between 1-2 am. FSD took over and moved us from harm. I’ve never seen it do a maneuver like this before. It was amazing. It saved our lives. I highly recommend purchasing this feature. You might need it someday. Elon Musk 𝙺𝚒𝚖𝚋𝚊𝚕 𝙼𝚞𝚜𝚔 🤠 Tesla So shout out to the hard working people at Tesla for keeping us all safe. Also please get this feature out to the countries/territories that don’t have access yet. They need it just like we do.

This is huge and exactly what is needed for FSD. Elon Musk says future FSD software releases will remember your parking preferences when arriving at a destination. The only time I need to disengage FSD is when reversing into my garage to charge. Hopefully now it’ll remember where and how I want to park. This could also help people with dedicated parking spots at work, etc. I can’t wait to try it out, I know a lot of people were waiting for something like this.

After circling for almost a half of an hour and couldn’t find a parking spot in one of the busiest areas she was in, this woman spots a Burger King . She thinks nothing of it, she’s only going to be gone a few minutes so she took a shot. She comes back to see her car towed and blames the employee for being snarky when they told her they towed her. There was a tow sign posted there so how was this not her fault? In college I was out drinking with friends and we couldn’t find a spot to park. I ended up parking next to a dumpster in the parking lot at a bar. From what I remember, there wasn’t a sign saying I couldn’t park there nor was there a sign saying they would tow me. By the time I came back out with friends, my car was gone. I was so loaded I didn’t put 2 and 2 together and thought I must have parked elsewhere. My friends and I started to walk around the surrounding bars hoping that I had parked elsewhere. After walking around for almost an hour, we were beginning to over up so that we could think rationally again. We walked into the bar and asked if they had towed our car and one of the servers told us that they did because I blocked their dumpster. It was the weekend and they wouldn’t let me get my car back until Monday. By the time I got my car back I owed for a tow and two days storage.

I've been using FSD in my Tesla Model X for nearly a year. Here's the Good, the Bad and the Ugly on Tesla's FSD... The Good: - FSD is bar far, the most advanced driving technology I've ever experienced in any vehicle. - I use it every day, on every drive. Why? Because it reduces my driving work substantially. It keeps the car centered in the lane, keeps an appropriate following distance, stops for red lights and stop signs, turns where I need to turn and handles 99% of my driving tasks. - I think driving with FSD is FAR safer than driving without it because it reduces the "dumb" mistakes that drivers make that cause accidents. Mistakes like being distracted and missing the fact that the light is turning red or that the car in front of you just hit the breaks, or swerving out of your lane, or forgetting an exit or a turn and trying to make a heroic move to stay on course. All of these things are handled by FSD with grace and it likely is saving countless accidents. - Long drives and road trips are a pleasure with FSD because you are not fatigued with the many thousands of micro driving tasks, such as keeping the car centered in the lane or even worrying about where you're going. The car does all of that for you (and Navigate on Autopilot also does 95% of this for road trips). - When I use FSD, I have near-0 road rage, never speed up rapidly for no good reason and I am generally a more relaxed driver. The Bad: - Sometimes FSD has Schizophrenia, sees things that aren't there, slows for no reason, is indecisive on whether to go or stop which causes it to do extreme movements of the steering wheel, breaks and accelerator. In most of these circumstances, it's not unsafe, but as the driver sitting in the driver's seat, it is quite embarrassing, especially if you have passengers in the vehicle. - There are times when FSD makes a truly unsafe mistake, misses a red light (super rare) and tries to go when it should clearly stop, or slams on the break because it thinks a car might cross paths when the car was clearly not going to. In all these instances, it's super easy to take over and correct FSD's mistake. I don't even think twice about it...I quickly take over, correct the mistake, and put it back on FSD. The Ugly: - FSD is nearly useless in parking lots. It is surprisingly bad, especially since Elon Musk introduced the "Summon" feature long before FSD was released publicly. He said "just like humans, the AI also needs to learn driving by starting in the parking lot." 5 Years later, Summon still sucks and FSD has no idea how to drive in a parking lot. - Despite the many praises that a specific release often gets on Twitter, my personal experience has been that a new release could actually be worse than the previous version. For example, when my FSD upgraded from 10.69 to 11.3, it lost its ability to get in & out of HOV lanes on the freeway (I live in Scottsdale AZ). This simple loss of functionality (which returned with 11.4) caused numerous missed exits and route delays due to my over-reliance on FSD. - FSD makes some incredibly bad choices that are unexplainable, like certain lane changes, or last-second preparation to try and make a turn from 3 lanes away. These mistakes get better and worse with each release...it's a mixed bag as to what you're going to get with an update. - Your car's FSD never ever learns or improves by user input (not without an update). So it will make the exact same mistake in the exact same location, every, single, time. That can be super annoying. Conclusion: Despite the shortcomings, FSD is a technology marvel that I prefer not to live without. I don't see myself having a primary car that doesn't have Tesla-level FSD capabilities anytime in the future. Even the basic Autopilot features of Tesla are far superior to any other vehicle I've experienced. And despite what Elon says, the rate of improvement that I have experienced in the past year will not put it on a trajectory to be ready without a backup driver anytime in the next year or two. But with a backup driver, FSD is incredible, makes driving safer and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

FSD V14.3.1 Parks in Handicap spot Truthfully I thought this problem was solved - I haven't had FSD try and park in a handicap spot in a long time.. but just as I was talking about it on my video the car decided to nose into a few well marked spots.

Sometime in the next decade every single one of you will trust AI with your lives. Maybe on vacation when you take a Waymo, Zoox, or Tesla Robotaxi, This has deep implications on the future. After you do it you will realize that resisting more AI, like in a brain/computer interface jacked into your brain, is folly. These two turns have taken many lives. Before the wall was installed they were amongst the most dangerous in the United States. Downhill off camber turn causes many wrecks. Still does. Very little room for error. And has an affordance for driving fast into tragedy. Here my robot drives them without touching me the robot once. For hours of driving today. With my entire family in the car. Yes I trust a piece of melted sand to not kill us. Most of today we were on high-speed two lane roads. Just a few feet to the left of us is a tragedy waiting to happen. Now they yell at me when I turn the AI off. It is far smoother with it on. Next year unsupervised driving is coming. I will be amongst the first to buy a car without a steering wheel. And take it on this road where my mom and brother wrecked cars. “Keep your hands on the steering wheel,” I can hear her yelling. Funny, she yelled at me when I sat too close to the TV. It is one reason why I took to running camera at a Silicon Valley church for a decade. So I could be closer to the TV. Now I wear two TVs on my face. You all are just going to have to deal. I am not putting my hands back on the steering wheel.

For most companies, this feature would be the main headline event. Today I had Grok in my Cybertruck start my day with a motivational quote from Elon Musk. Then I told it to take me to the Apple Visitor Center. Then the Tesla store. Then coffee at Starbucks. While driving, it told me the weather, updated me on how $TSLA was doing, while I just sat there, completely hands-free, watching my Tesla take me exactly where I asked, all in real-time. Then I sipped my morning tea from my Tesla mug. I danced in my seat a little bit bc I was happy. And my Tesla handled the entire drive. Just my voice and no stress. This is what the future looks like, and it’s only possible bc of the power and synergy of Tesla FSD and xAI’s Grok. Once you experience this, just 1 time, there’s no going back. I feel bad for all my doubters and haters who had to drive themselves manually to work today… bc I didn’t.

Putting my feet up on vacation. “I love to drive” people told me when I did consumer research about autonomous vehicles a decade ago. In Los Angeles traffic? now I understand why you are so bullish about FSD. The traffic in Los Angeles is next level. Manually driving in this sucks. Headed to Scottsdale, Arizona to do some fun manual driving to Zion National Park on roads that don’t have traffic. Where driving is fun, in small doses. :-) Oh and don’t look at your 401k. Put your feet up instead and enjoy the weekend! :-)

So I just picked up my car and will be using FSD 13.2.8 for the first time. I figured it was as good of a time as any to actually track how many KMs before I had what I considered to be a critical disengagement. I would count this as something that had I not intervened it was more likely than not that I would have gotten into an accident. Top Tip Tom Told me that I should expect to go around 10,000 Miles (16,093KM) before such an event would take place. I didn't quite make it that far.

Today is the first time that Tesla FSD pulled all the way into my garage when I got home. Seems like an occasion to pick up a share or two. It's pulled into the driveway and parked before, but never into the garage. Part of me wonders if it decided to do this because it "learned" that's where I park. Over the weekend there were a few times that I engaged FSD directly from the garage without pulling out manually.

I have been traveling nearly nonstop for over 2 months. Tonight was my last flight for the next 7 weeks. I’m beyond exhausted and miss my family. My flight landed just before midnight and I have a 38 mile drive home. Thank you Tesla AI for FSD. Because of your amazing technology, I know I will make it home to my family safe. It’s got me covered on all angles. I don’t have to worry about an attention lapse that could cost me my life. Stepping off the safest form of travel and into my Tesla is a reminder that soon, driving won’t be the dangerous endeavor it is today. And owning a car with FSD and using it correctly puts me ahead of the game. Seeing my family at the end of a long trip is worth it.
