China just made Hermes free forever 🚀 You can now run Hermes with Kimi K 2.6 through Ollama in one click. Just install the model, launch Hermes, select Kimi K 2.6 and suddenly you have a powerful AI agent running locally with zero API fees. This might be the easiest free Hermes setup yet.

hermes agent is now nix friendly! just merged PR #20 that lets you install and run hermes agent on your nix system! for the security conscious, `container.enable = true` will run hermes in an ubuntu 24.04 container. you can have: nix-reproducible agent, mutable ubuntu runtime

I am very happy to present `hermes record`, a Hermes Labs plugin built by Nous Research. it records what you do in your browser, creates a skill and Hermes can then repeat the task with whatever details you give it. in this video, I record my pizza order, then use /learn to make a skill out of that recording, then ask my Hermes Agent to place a different order on its own :) 'hermes plugins install workflow-record' AGI.

This Hermes update is honestly kind of scary. Your agent now decides which AI to hire for every job. Nous Research just released Advanced Delegation, an official Hermes plugin. When Hermes hands a task to a subagent, it can now pick the right model or profile for it: → A fast, cheap model for lookups, summaries and simple edits → A deep model for the hard thinking → A local model when the data has to stay on your machine → Or one of your Hermes profiles, with its own skills, keys and personality You set the routes. The agent picks one by name. It never sees your keys, so it can't invent a route. One agent. A whole team underneath it. To set it up: → Update to Hermes 0.22.5 or newer → Run: hermes plugins install advanced-delegation → Run: hermes delegation config to add your routes → Type /new to start a fresh chat Want my Hermes setup? DM me "SOP" and I'll send it over 👊

I always wondered which Ollama model my machine could run properly. Now you can easily do that using llms-checker It's a CLI tool that checks your system specs and recommends the best models to run on Ollama based on what your machine npm install -g llm-checker

The new Hermes Agent desktop app changes the way you interact with Hermes Agent. It is basically ChatGPT, but for Hermes Agent. This new app made it 10x easier to set up Hermes Agent. Within 5 minutes I had Hermes setup on my machine. If you have not already tried this new app make sure you do. Full review video below.

1. Go to zotero(dot)org. Download and install it on your computer. You will also need to install Zotero Connector. This is a tool that connects Zotero with your web browser. (I am using Chrome.) Click on "Install Chrome Connector" and add it your browser. Once it's added, click on the puzzle-like icon and pin the Zotero Connector to your browser.

I just built my second brain with Hermes Agent. It remembers people, companies, projects, and decisions. It pulls from meeting notes, docs, anything I feed it, and cites the source every time. It's this repo called Gbrain, open-sourced by Y Combinator president Garry Tan. install it by pasting this into Hermes: "Install Gbrain following the instructions at Set up the embedding provider, then run gbrain init and gbrain doctor to verify." Add the MCP server so Hermes can call it directly: "Add the Gbrain MCP server and reload." The graph builds itself. Pattern matching on the people and companies already in your notes. 31 points more precise than plain vector search, by their own benchmark. The data from the video is made up so I could show you how it works. Hermes' memory remembers our conversations. Gbrain remembers my world. Open source. Runs local, no server, no Docker.

Hermes can now log itself into websites without ever seeing your password. That’s a pretty big upgrade for browser automation. Real Profile already let Hermes use websites you were already signed into. This handles the other case: You’re not logged in yet. Hermes can now securely pull the login from: • Hermes’ encrypted local vault • 1Password • Bitwarden Then fill the credentials and sign in without exposing the raw password to the model or conversation. And it doesn’t stop when 2FA shows up. If your saved login has an authenticator key, Hermes can generate and enter the code automatically. If the site sends you a verification code by text, email, or app, Hermes gives you a secure prompt to enter it there instead of putting it in chat. The code never enters the conversation or model context. Passkeys, hardware keys, and approval taps still stay with you. Hermes waits for you to complete that step, then continues. So browser automation can now go from: “Please sign in” to actually getting through the login and continuing the workflow. Without handing your password or 2FA code directly to the model.

Want a free private AI agent on your laptop? Here’s the simple setup. 👇 1. Install Hermes Agent from GitHub. 2. Install Ollama. 3. Download Gemma 4 26B. 4. Use Docker to keep everything contained. 5. Add Firecrawl so the agent can research the web. 6. Connect Telegram so you can chat with it from your phone. 7. Turn on context compression so it stays sharp. 8. Set the daily reset for 4 AM so it refreshes while you sleep. What you get at the end: → local AI agent → private workflow → web research built in → self improving skills → no monthly model rental That is a serious setup for anyone building with AI. Save this video, you’ll have the easiest beginner roadmap to follow later. Want the SOP? DM me. 💬
