A moral panic is a mass hysteria in which large swathes of a population get swept up by fear of an imaginary evil or danger, leading to the irrational persecution of innocent people. Two of the most famous historical examples are the Salem Witch Trials and the Satanic Panic. There were no witches, nor any Satanic cults operating out of daycares. At the recent LaurierHxA event, I was accused of stoking a moral panic for my role in the gender debate. I wholeheartedly reject that accusation. Because in this situation, the harm is not imagined. Scroll “topsurgery” TikTok and you’ll see thousands of teenage girls and young women displaying mastectomy scars gashed across their chests. Scroll the horror show of phalloplasty TikTok. Listen to the stories of detransitioners. The harm is real, visible, and undeniable. The truth is, we’re living through an inverted moral panic. Society’s response to the scandal unfolding in plain sight is unforgivable. Most people either ignore the harm, or worse, celebrate it and demand that it continue. But the true inversion occurs because it is those who dare speak the truth about this scandal who are accused of being evil. Those trying to protect young people from this medical crime are the modern day witches who find themselves persecuted.

Thruth: When I post a video of a young kid being brutalized 100 miles past 'bullying', the most common response is "teach your kids martial arts" or "carrying a g*n is the way". When I post a video of young girls being abducted, 20 people will chime in and say "they shouldn't scream for help, they should scream 'fire' or not scream at all". Most of the people are on my side and actually mean well. But how idiotic is the advice? You're saying that children should Jason Bourn their way out of gang beatings and children should be carrying guns, even in Europe, where guns aren't legal, even for adults. Adults caused this shit, and now adults should make protecting kids the #1 priority in life until they REVERSE [THEIR] mistakes.

Yesterday we had the Lords statement on Ann Widdecombe. Some lovely tributes from across the House, although some implicit anti-Reform vibes. So glad Kate Hoey called this out. I raised the worry of using Ann's brutal killing to justify yet more state censorship of online opinions. That would be a real insult to Ann, whose Oxford Union speech is now being shared widely - in which she proves her passionate, unapologetic commitment to free speech. Hopefully some of my fellow noble Lords will watch it!
