WHY weren't we taught THIS??

I don’t know but I would have been even better at math!!

...and THEN some!!

Now try it out and see what you learned. 69% of 145

When I was in school I always looked at these short cuts as cheating. You'd see they would teach math this way in Japan, etc. Maybe not this particular method, but short cuts and work arounds where you avoided doing the long hand solution. But damn if I'm not open to it now.

No. Basic math. My friend: “ This $49.99 shirt is 30% off. How much is it?” Me: “You’re stupid. If you’re NOT paying 30%, you ARE paying 70%. Seven times five is 35.”

Old school simple arithmetic. Common Core math is evil.

All basic math...did it in my head as a young kid...mostly because we were taught correctly...in California as well...early 70s.

Yep, never thought of it like that. Moving the decimal two spaces to the left is the same as knocking off both zeros. But what if one doesn’t end in zero??? Can’t just knock it off.

That is how I was taught!!! 😁

This is wild! I like seeing her doing these math problems, it's enlightening!

Just take 10% and times it by either 7, 4, or 8.

No. This is simple and basic math for people not educated by today’s government run schools.

Now do without round numbers.

Hmm, how about 15% or 25& of 120? I want to see these done.

The 'suspension of disbelief' = a person wearing Portland is able to write legible...

What???🤯

21, 48, 40 off the top of my head.

Why is your mind blown? That is SIMPLE math!

That's how I do tips. Whatever the total is, double it for 20%. $75.45 Bill? $7.54x2 = $15.08 tip $7.54x3 = $22.62 tip for 30% 25% eyeballing it would be $18.85. 😉 $22.62−$15.08=$7.54÷2=$3.77 $15.08+$3.77= $18.85 I usually round up to the nearest dollar, in real life. 😇

It's too early to do math it's too early to do math, lol

Remember that "of" means "times". Also, realize that 80% of 50 is the same thing as 50% of 80.

Use this method to derive 71.3568% of 32.4315

I hated Math, but I would have loved this!

Blown that this is a post?!

I work at a bank and so many people are like what is 5% APY for 30,000? How do you not know? Bad teachers i see

I learned this in the 4th grade

Holy crap!

🤯 WTF!

TOTALLY UNFAIR! We were mind-fooked from the start SO PISSED RIGHT NOW 😡

WHAT

Cool

😳

Love this!!

Yes

more? ok - this is great!

I admit I am bookmarking every single one of these math videos… 😂👍🏼
