After I shared a video in which TMC’s Sagardighi candidate Byron Biswas admitted that TMC candidates in Sagardighi, Farakka, Jangipur, and Shamsherganj are losing, he has now issued a threat, claiming he spoke “emotionally” and saying he will file a case against me. Notably, he has not denied his remarks even once or called the video fake. Now, watch this video. He is openly threatening the state police, using abusive and uncivil language, telling them they are agents of the state government and should not work for Delhi. He goes so far as to warn that if they act on the directions of the Election Commission of India, they will be thrown out of West Bengal and forced to live in Delhi. In a clear attempt at intimidation, he claims that since the police draw salaries from the state government, they must follow their (read TMC’s) instructions. This is unacceptable in a democracy. I expect the West Bengal police across the state to act with neutrality and uphold the rule of law. Now I request Election Commission of India to take strict action against these rioters and permanently remove their voter identity. If the ECI can’t take action against such people, then there is no point in conducting SIR in such regions. Dear Pawan Kalyan ji, please take strict action against these rioters, remove all their identity proofs, and put them behind bars.
