New experiments. ▶️ Should I do a tutorial for that? #b3d #blender #rigging #tutorial #landinggear

Not sure why, but these mechanical setups rigged in blender are the most satisfying things I like to watch

The reason why I love doing them 😃

Pretty cool, only things I see missing are downlocks and uplocks and a centering cam, but that's probably unnecessary detail for CGI

I don't know what these are 😄 And yes, this is mostly to practice rigging and not a faithful recreation.

Yeah sorry, that's the engineer and the aircraft mechanic in me 😂 Awesome rigging work seriously. You ever look at the F-16 main landing gear? Its geometry is a trip.

Hehe I thought so :) I just looked it up, super interesting movement. Would be a nice exercise.

is this IK at this point? it feels this guy used so much IK that it should be named something entirely new

Hehe it's three IKs that are in there but the main rotation is an FK rotation. It drives all the other IKs so it looks a bit more complex.

Perfection.

Add it to kerbal

Could you do a video talking about your design philosophy with building intricate mechanics? Or even a live stream idc i need your knowledge

I have some videos about it on my Patreon:

Ive already bought and watched all of these, you’re a great tapestry of knowledge on this subject, id be happy to pay for more!

Ooooh okay! Thank you very much!!! 🧡 I guess, you also have my beginner rigging course then 😁 So far this is what there is except my public YouTube tutorials. I will definitely make more. And I started working on another advanced rigging course. So stay tuned 😉

I needed this exact thing last year. Could still use it…

Do a mechanical shoulder joint! lets swap notes! there has to be a better way to do it!!!

Nice. I've been trying to solve that kind of shoulder rig for ever! I think there are many ways to do it but yours looks pretty good to me 🙂

Yup

Yes please!

yes please

Def

Do it

please do

I would devour a tutorial like that. Making a locomotive valve gear, and constraints are killing me.

I'd love to see a tutorial on this. Especially how to make the suspension and wheel rotation react to ground after landing.

Cool good to know. Slight spoiler: the wheel rotation is keyframed 😉

Oh, I was hoping that there's some trick to use the physics engine to consider friction and make the wheel rotate automatically.

Oh yeah that's definitely possible, but would be overkill. Since the rotation begins directly with contact, there is no need for such an elaborate system. Translating the plane movement into rotation would also be possible and no simulation necessary.

Oh yes please :-)

yes

Nice! A tutorial would be great to see.

please!

このような構造を作ることに憧れています!本当にスゴイです!

Now that's just cool.

I'm like a cat looking at wet food. Yes, it's inevitable that you prepare it now.

Why does it have 4 bay doors?

I don't know. I saw that in a reference 😁 One that opens independently for the wheel and one that is connected to the whole mechanism.

Really, I would expect one door.

Well it obviously depends on the plane model. There are tons of different planes with different mechanisms.

@IsThisA3DModel or is it AI i can't tell

@IsThisA3DModel Oh come on. You already have the viewport and everything in it. What more do you need? Is it so hard to believe a human made that? 😁

@flutterwhat @IsThisA3DModel i love AI cause it is exposing all these retards at a scale 😂

@DemNikoArt @IsThisA3DModel i wanted at isthisa3dmodel to repost it it's obviously a 3d model

@0xCarnival @IsThisA3DModel Aah well in that case, thank you. Because it worked 😁
