In 2024, the school announced that they would be building a brand new football facility to replace the Gug, which had been in use since 2005. The dining hall will have onsite kitchens and nutrition options for athletes, which previously were not available for the athletics department. Student-athletes would be given pre-cooked meals after their training sessions or would have to travel to the dining hall in order to eat, but will now be able to eat onsite. Permits show Data Hall 5 is now in the process of being completed inside while crews are working hard to prepare for a doubling of the installed Megapacks (from ~130 currently to ~250 when completed). The part 2 of the chiller system assembly continues, with most of the superstructure in lace and the 6 fan openings on the roof taking shape. Utilities, plumbing, storm water management systems & more are nearly completed in and around the facility. This facility will be important to train the Optimus Robots & in the distance just north of the facility, the new 10M/yr Optimus factory is starting to take shape.
