and the embodied reasoning model (ER) is available directly via the Gemini API for developers : ) making it our first widely available robotics model in this capability class!

" Apollo " can you cut veggies? No humanoid company is showcasing cutting veggies. Is google up for the challenge?

I yearn for the day we can just have these as normal machines that run locally inside the robot, you buy for the house and Google/Teslas MRR comes from selling parts, repairs, and optional services that don’t have to be cloud connected. The notion of a remotely controlled human sized bot inside my house sounds terrifying. Half of these products I see including Google glass 2.0 seem to lack that “privacy switch” the Google nest hubs 1.0 had. They gave me a huge peace of mind but there were definitely some rooms I still covered sensors on the device with physical tape (nest hub in bathroom). I’d like to see that same privacy and peace of mind thought go into new products too.

This is wild 👀 seeing robots not just act but actually reason through tasks like laundry sorting feels like a real leap forward. The transfer learning angle is especially exciting—brings us closer to truly general-purpose helpers.

Should have gone into End-End Vision only approach from the beginning. Now do you see why you don't need RADAR/LiDAR?

Reasoning, planning, and cross-robot learning this feels like a real breakthrough. Robots moving beyond physical tasks into tool use and adaptable intelligence brings us much closer to true general-purpose robotics.

Manufacturing processes haven’t left much room for automated software updates, as machines are often unique and the return on investment didn’t allow much time for additional testing. Let’s make that change for increased outputs… Collusion with human workforce has also slowed the adoption of AI. However, once used, there is no way back…

Interesting to see Google positioning Gemini Robotics as a physical assistant. Just like ChatGPT Pulse is shaping up to be a digital assistant, these robots aim to handle real-world chores like laundry while reasoning and making rational decisions. The demo shows that clearly. Will be exciting to see how they compete with players like Unitree, Boston Dynamics, and Agility Robotics in this space.

controlled demos are cool, but the real challenge is seeing if these robots handle messy, unpredictable real-world environments just as smoothly

What would be the expected pricing for this model? So that we can plan ahead. If now we invest time to build something with it, we want to be sure that it's cheap enough so that we still have margin. Thanks.
