A new FAA feature could make getting airborne a little easier for general and business aviation pilots. Pilots will soon be able to request mobile clearances and cancel IFR clearances directly from a phone or tablet, potentially allowing them to obtain departure clearance without having to contact the tower directly. The FAA has been working with industry partners to develop and test the technology.
