We’re launching Optima. Now anyone can create a custom benchmark for their use case, leveraging Artificial Analysis’ leading research and platform Building and running benchmarks is difficult. We have distilled Artificial Analysis’ research and experience developing benchmarks into Optima, a new platform for benchmarking models on your own workloads and comparing performance, speed and cost efficiency. Optima allows you to find the best model for your task, or an equally performant alternative to your current setup at 10x lower cost or time per task. We’ve integrated Artificial Analysis' research and experience in benchmarks across the Optima workflow: ➤ Build benchmarks based on your own data and use cases: There are three ways to build a benchmark with Optima. Upload an existing evaluation dataset from your own files or Hugging Face, or import agent traces from platforms including Arize AI, Braintrust and langfuse.com. Install the Optima skill to build a benchmark using context from your coding environment and previous sessions. Or simply describe your use case and provide example inputs and outputs, and Optima will build the benchmark for you ➤ Run across the latest models: Run the same benchmark across leading models in a single click, and keep your leaderboard up to date as soon as new models are released ➤ Bring Artificial Analysis grading to your own benchmark: Evaluate responses against objective rubric criteria or using the same pairwise judging approach used for Artificial Analysis benchmarks including GDPval-AA and AA-Briefcase. For pairwise judging, select your preferred responses from a sample and Optima uses those preferences to rank models across your test set ➤ Compare performance, cost and time efficiency: Optima measures more than model performance. Cost per Task and Time per Task are tracked alongside benchmark scores, with category-level results and support for custom metrics, allowing you to compare the tradeoffs between models for your specific use case Ahead of launch, here are examples questions our beta testers answered with Optima: ➤ Which model can save me 10x the cost without a meaningful decrease in quality for my finance & accounting agent? ➤ Which model best matches the writing style of lawyers for my legal agent? ➤ Which model can best identify different elements in my custom image dataset? Optima is available today. Build your own benchmark at

10 agent evals for AI engineers: (explained with usage) 1) golden set → a fixed set of cases you never edit, run on every single change. → use as the baseline that tells you whether anything moved at all. 2) llm as judge → a second model scores the output against a written rubric. → use when the answer is open-ended and there is no string to match against. 3) rubric scoring → one number per dimension: correctness, tone, safety, cost. → use when a single score hides which part actually got worse. 4) trajectory eval → grade the path the agent took, not only the answer it landed on. → use when the right answer for the wrong reason is going to bite you later. 5) tool unit tests → test each tool on its own, with fixtures, no model in the loop. → use always. most agent bugs are tool bugs wearing a costume. 6) regression suite → replay past runs against the new prompt or model and diff the results. → use before every prompt change, because prompts have no type system. 7) a/b in prod → split live traffic between two versions and compare outcomes, not vibes. → use when offline scores stopped predicting what users actually do. 8) human review → sample a slice of runs and have a person grade them honestly. → use to calibrate your judge, because a judge nobody checks quietly drifts. 9) shadow run → the candidate runs on real traffic in parallel and its output is shown to nobody. → use before a risky rollout, when one bad answer would be expensive. 10) red team → deliberately attack it: jailbreaks, injection, exfil, tool abuse. → use before anyone external can reach it, not after. offline evals tell you it works. online evals tell you it still works. both sides matter, but not all ten do. run the two that would have caught your last outage. save this. then read the full breakdown on loop engineering below.

I've been building a music player with Next.js for fun. Here's a quick demo of how it works (it's open source!) • Demo: • Code: If you want to learn more about how it's built, here's more details ↓ I'm using Postgres (with Drizzle) to store information about the songs and playlists. Audio and image files are stored in Vercel Blob (object storage), and the URLs are then referenced in the database. For the UI, I'm using shadcn/ui (so Tailwind CSS and Radix). This made it easy to copy/paste in some nice components, like the dropdown menus. I built the entire first version of the UI in v0 and then iterated from there, feeding it my Drizzle schema as a source in the project and having it scaffold some of the boilerplate for me: I added support for keyboard navigation (using arrow keys) or vim motions (j/k to go up/down, and h/l to go between playlists and tracks). Also, space to toggle the now playing song, and / to focus the search input. The search function has a nice utility to highlight the currently searched text on the page in yellow. Then, I was exploring how to pass metadata from my application to macOS or iOS. Turns out there's an API for that – MediaSession. Web apps can share metadata about what media is playing (title, artist, album artwork) and sync play/pause/seek with system media controls. Works across modern browsers — even integrates with iOS dynamic island and shows up on lock screens: I set up my app like a PWA – it has a manifest.json file, so it can be installed to my iOS home screen or added to my dock on macOS. On iOS, it then uses the full screen height `100dvh` (dynamic viewport) and has padding on the bottom for the safe area with the `env()` CSS function. Finally, I was able to use the Vercel AI SDK in a script to clean up the metadata on audio files I downloaded from YouTube. Bonus: I even was able to dogfood the React Compiler, which helped me fix a performance bug! That's all! It's fun to make personal software:

New course to bring you up to state-of-the-art at using AI to help you code: Build Apps with Windsurf's AI Coding Agents, built in partnership with WIndsurf (Codeium) and taught by Anshul Ramachandran! AI-assisted IDEs (Integrated Development Environments) make developers’ workflows faster, more efficient, and much more fun. Agentic tools like Windsurf are more than just code autocomplete—they are collaborative coding agents that help you break down complex applications, iterate efficiently, and generate code that spans multiple files. Although a lot of coding assistants share the same underlying large language models for planning and reasoning, a major point of distinction is how they handle tools, keep track of context, and stay aligned with your intent as a developer. For instance, if you make modifications to a class definition in your code and make the same modifications to other classes in the same directory, you might tell the AI agent "Do the same thing in similar places in this directory." Here, tracking your intent means understanding that “the same thing" refers to that recent edit you just made, which must be followed by appropriate search and tool-calling to implement the changes. In this course, you'll learn the inner workings of coding agents, their strengths and limitations, and how to use Windsurf to quickly build several applications. In detail, you'll: - Build a mental model of how agents work by combining human-action tracking, tool integration, and context awareness to carry out an agentic coding workflow. - Learn the challenges of code search and discovery and how a multi-step retrieval approach helps coding agents address them. - Use Windsurf to analyze and understand a large, old codebase and update it to the latest versions of the frameworks and packages it uses. - Build a Wikipedia data analysis app that retrieves, parses, and analyzes word frequencies. - Enhance the performance of your Wikipedia analysis app by adding caching, and through this, also learn how to course-correct when the AI agent produces unexpected results. - Learn tips and tricks such as keyboard shortcuts, autocomplete, and @ mentions to quickly call on agentic capabilities. - Use image/multimodal capabilities of the AI agent to increase your development velocity; you'll see an example of uploading a mockup with sketched-out UI features, and ask the agent to use that to build new functionality to an app. By the end of this course, you’ll understand agentic coding in-depth and know how to use it to make your development process much faster, more efficient, and enjoyable. New short course: Vibe Coding 101 with Replit! Learn to build and host applications with an AI agent in this course, built in partnership with Replit ⠕ and taught by its President Michele Catasta and Head of Developer Relations . Coding agents are changing how we write code. "Vibe coding" refers to a growing practice where you might barely look at the generated code, and instead focus on the architecture and features of your application. However, contrary to popular belief, effectively coding this way isn't done by just prompting, accepting all recommendations, and hoping for the best. It requires structuring your work, refining your prompts, and having a systematic process that lead to a more efficient and effective workflow. I code frequently using LLMs, and asking an LLM to do everything in one shot usually does not work. I'll typically take a problem, partition it into manageable modules, spend time creating prompts to specify each module, and use the model to produce the code one module at a time, and test/debug each module before moving on. A process like this is making me and many other developers faster and more efficient. In this video-only course, you’ll learn how to use Replit’s cloud environment--with an integrated code editor, package manager, and deployment tools--to build and deploy web applications. Along the way, you’ll learn strategies for working effectively with agents and improve your development skills. In detail, you’ll: - Understand principles of agentic code development such as being precise, giving agents one task at a time, making prompts specific, keeping projects tidy, starting with fresh sessions for each new feature, and how to approach debugging. - Learn how to get started with Replit, and key skills for vibe coding: Thinking, using frameworks, checkpoints, debugging, and providing context. - Create a product requirement document (PRD) and wireframe for your agent to build a prototype of a website performance analyzer. - See how to use an agent to make your prototype more visually appealing, and deploy it application others to access . - Learn to build a head-to-head national park ranking app, from a sample dataset, with voting capabilities and persistent data storage, and refine further ask the assistant to recap and explain what it built to find room for improvement and reinforce your learning. By the end of this course, you’ll have a solid foundation in building with coding agents, and a process you can use to keep vibe coding effectively. Please sign up here:

After some people expressed doubts about the usage I reported, I tried the same prompt with GPT-6-Astra (Max) again. This time, it worked for 46 minutes and consumed 3% of my weekly usage (91% -> 88%). I will share the prompt here so you can test it for yourself. Make sure to have Godot installed and run it in an empty folder. Prompt: Create a visually spectacular, highly polished 3D Sonic the Hedgehog vertical slice in Godot. Do not use web search, external downloads, online assets, or internet resources. Build everything using only locally available tools, assets, and procedural/original content. Sonic must be immediately recognizable: cobalt-blue quills, connected eyes, tan muzzle/torso, white gloves, oversized red shoes with white straps, compact athletic proportions, swept-back quills, expressive animation, iconic running posture, and spin form. Prioritize a polished character model, strong materials, expressive animation, smooth blending, and excellent lighting. Focus the entire game on speed, momentum, responsive controls, and fluid traversal. Include high-speed running, acceleration, drifting, jumping, homing attacks, spin dash, rolling, boost-style acceleration, springs, dash pads, grind rails, loops, wall-running, ramps, launch sequences, enemies that can be chained with homing attacks, and rings placed along ideal racing lines. Preserve momentum and avoid sticky collisions or unnecessary stops. Create one exceptional tropical coastal level rather than several smaller ones. Include ocean vistas, waterfalls, green cliffs, palms, flowers, checker-patterned rock, ruins, caves, loops, rails, bridges, tunnels, beaches, and dramatic vertical terrain. The world should feel large and continuous, with multiple routes and higher-skill shortcuts. Structure the level around memorable moments: - Cliffside opening overlooking the level - Long downhill acceleration section - Giant loop and corkscrew - Rail grinding above the ocean - Airborne homing-attack chain - Cave or ancient-ruin section - Vertical wall run - Huge waterfall jump - Final high-speed sprint Make speed feel spectacular with restrained speed lines, wind trails, particles, grass/dust effects, camera banking, subtle FOV expansion, environmental reactions, and readable motion effects. Sonic's animation should evolve naturally from jogging into an iconic forward-leaning sprint while maintaining believable terrain contact on slopes, loops, rails, and walls. Use polished animation for idle, walk, jog, sprint, boost, jump, fall, landing, spin, homing attack, grinding, drifting, spring launches, stumbling, and victory. Use squash, stretch, anticipation, and follow-through while keeping the presentation sophisticated. Target the feel of a premium modern console platformer: vibrant stylized visuals, strong PBR materials, dynamic sunlight, soft shadows, fog, ocean reflections, spray, vegetation movement, particles, ambient occlusion, tasteful bloom, rich color, and cinematic composition. Keep the tone colorful, optimistic, energetic, and larger than life. Include interactive cinematic moments such as collapsing terrain, dramatic loop camera pulls, rail grinding high above the ocean, waterfall jumps, scattering birds, debris during boosts, and huge aerial reveals without taking control away from the player for long. The highest priority is joyful control and AAA Graphics. The player should constantly want to accelerate, discover faster routes, hit ramps, chain attacks, grind rails, and replay sections more cleanly. Favor responsive movement, spectacle, momentum, and traversal polish over unnecessary systems. When details are unspecified, choose whatever produces the most impressive, energetic, polished, and unmistakably Sonic-like result possible in Godot.

First of all, we here at AMGI want to thank you all for being on this journey with us. We have been extremely busy. Over the last few weeks we have delivered a huge early access patch to My Pet Hooligan, delivered a new on-chain governance solution with WinVote, brought back NFTs in game, started testing the Street Kred system, made some new hires, delivered a new site for AMGI Studios and smashed the largest gaming event in the USA, PAX West. What does all of this mean and importantly what is next!.... PAX West You have seen the videos, you know the vibes were on point, but let's dive deeper into this and what the key takeaways are. PAX West was completely different to the WAGMI Crypto events that we are mostly used to in this space, although these are always fun and important, when creating gaming products, it is also important to get directly in front of people who have a passion for gaming. That's what PAX West was, hosting over 100,000 gamers who just want to play games and have fun. PAX West was a great success for us on many fronts. It confirmed that we have something special in our hands. Gamers loved both the brand and the game and were eager to get involved. It opened up new exciting opportunities with gaming and hardware companies. It was a blast seeing event goers from Day 2 onwards wearing the My Pet Hooligan t-shirts around the city. It was great to see parents playing the game together with their kids. The choices to not include blood and gore made a huge difference and have opened some new unexpected doors for us. If we truly believe in the progression and adoption of this industry we need to move beyond degen products and into real life consumer products that people can truly enjoy. That's what we are here to do, no matter how difficult it is, and no matter what the current ‘meta’ is. We have been here for many years grinding day in and day out and are still here today delivering like we are the new kids on the block trying to prove ourselves. The Game PAX West marks the end of a phase of the project, whilst we now posture more into continued efficiency, growth and retention. The game is not feature complete by any means yet but the foundations are strong. There are a number of features still being developed, including a progression system, consumables system, further build out of questing, token utility and more. As these are continuing to be developed we also continue on our journey to make the game more accessible. This will start with Steam and then Consoles. A Microsoft rep at PAX told us “we are going to make it”, who are we to disagree!... Lots of new ideas, lots of new feedback to work from and a renewed drive and hunger which are only going to help make this an even more compelling and fun game. The Web3 Marketplace In the coming days, Version 1 of the My Pet Hooligan Web3 Marketplace will be going live. Version 1 for now will allow for the trading of My Pet Hooligan NFTs, OG Hooligans and Zuckbots for $KARRAT. It will also serve as the marketplace for all of our upcoming in-game blockchain assets. This will eventually become part of your online My Pet Hooligan central hub and will include features such as rentals and subscriptions. It's been a long time coming but it shall be here very soon. Everything's coming together, one step at a time. It is important to note that there are many pieces of a complex puzzle that must come together in order for us to succeed. Between payment solutions, L1 & L2 blockchains, wallets, distribution platforms and the laws of the land. We are in uncharted waters and continue to do things in the most flexible ways possible to ensure we have strong resilience with our operations. The MPH website is next on the list for an uplift too as well as an overhaul of the user accounts system UI/UX. Team We continue to strengthen the team bringing in new hires and stepping up individuals from the community. Some of the new resources being brought in include a new Game Producer, Senior Game Engineer, Senior Blockchain Engineer and the former Dean of the Epic Unreal Fellowship Programme. Collectively bringing in experience from Epic, Solana, Blizzard and more. There are also some community role changes and new advisors that will help with social strategy and web3. As well as new marketing efforts through new channels of distribution that we are exploring. More to come on this… WinVote V1 Governance isn't sexy but building tools for the benefit of the space that others can license is. Governance is a key part of the industry and a need for most of the foundations in the crypto space. WinVote has started its trial with the KARRAT Foundation. Whilst the trial continues it will continue to be built out with an aim to be the premier tool for on-chain governance in the space. Access to WinVote for other communities and organizations wishing to use WinVote will be secure through licenses that utilize $KARRAT. We still have much more at work here in the studio, such as continued R&D, The Others, AI, Feature Development and more. This list is long, but we are grateful to get to do it. Stay tuned and let us cook, this s#it ain’t easy! Karrat Gang, thank you again for being on this journey with us. We love and appreciate you all! Look out for a catchup with the team next week. Hooli-hoo!!

Every time a new AI model demonstrates an ability to manipulate or generate media, it's celebrated as if we're witnessing these capabilities for the first time. This framing misses a crucial point: most of these capabilities have existed for decades. We just used different technology to accomplish them. What's changing now is that AI is allowing media generation and editing to be more accessible to many more - both in terms of cost and ease of use. Take David Fincher's The Social Network from 2010. The Winklevoss twins were played by two different actors, but Armie Hammer's face was digitally placed onto Josh Pence's body. What we call deepfakes today was just traditional VFX pipelines then. The process involved high-resolution facial scanning, detailed 3D modeling, precise facial rigging, and frame-by-frame tracking. The VFX team created photorealistic digital doubles, mapped accurate skin textures, and manually refined each transformation until the result was imperceptible. Most viewers never noticed - which is exactly the point. The best CGI is invisible CGI. This wasn't unique. Hollywood has been digitally transforming actors for decades through well-established technical pipelines: photogrammetry, facial capture, advanced compositing, and physics-based rendering. The question isn't whether we can do it - that has already been answered. Previously, two factors kept this technology contained: technical complexity and cost. Traditional graphics pipelines required specialized infrastructure - from high-end capture equipment to render farms - and deep technical expertise across multiple disciplines. "Fix it in post" meant teams of technical artists working with proprietary tools and complex workflows. More importantly, it was expensive - often millions per shot. Digital effects at this level are reserved for big-budget productions. AI isn't changing what's possible - it's changing the implementation stack. The same transformations that once required extensive hardware, specialized software, and teams of technical artists are being consolidated by generative and world models. The technology is moving from complex production pipelines to end-to-end solutions that anyone can use. Like Act-One (who said Act-Two?). What becomes possible when these capabilities are democratized? When sophisticated effects and graphics become accessible to many more filmmakers? When actors will be able to do more, in more languages, for more audiences? What happens when the technical and financial barriers to high-end content creation disappear?
