This week, our state signed two important security and long-term support agreements with partner countries. Germany. France. Very ambitious security agreements. I thank Chancellor Scholz and President Macron, as well as everyone on our teams, for preparing the agreements and putting exactly what we needed on paper. Defense support, joint political actions, and further systematization of cooperation between our countries with the goal of increased security and shared strength. The agreement covers cooperation in the supply of arms and military equipment, training, activities within the IT Coalition and other Capability Coalitions, as well as in-depth defense industry cooperation. Decisions are needed now that will provide greater protection for our people, more capabilities for our defense, and even stronger security cooperation between Ukraine, Europe, and the United States. The NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum, nearly twenty planned bilateral meetings with leaders, new Drone Deals, and other agreements with partners. We will continue to work on bolstering Ukraine’s air defense. New systems, missiles for them, and the issue of production licenses – all of this is our priority. We are grateful to everyone who is helping Ukraine with real steps.

As always, a good and productive meeting with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre. We discussed in detail our cooperation in the production and use of drones. Our experience is already being used in the Middle East and the Gulf. We are improving defense against “shahed” drones, and we believe this should also be done in Europe. Today, for this purpose, we initiated a Drone Deal with Norway and signed a Joint Declaration on Enhanced Defense and Security Cooperation. Now our teams will work out the details. We also focused on our joint production projects and cooperation priorities for this year, and not only in defense. We continue to work together with partners to strengthen our countries. I personally thank Jonas, Norway, and all Norwegians for their military and energy support for Ukraine, for strengthening our air defense, and for their readiness to continue support for the PURL initiative. We feel your support and are sincerely grateful for it.

These opportunities are available to our state thanks to many Ukrainians and millions of citizens from other countries who believe in Ukraine and support us. These opportunities allow us to keep Ukraine in the global spotlight, increase support for our state and our people, and effectively advocate for Ukrainian needs. The primary need is to end the war as quickly and justly as possible. Ukrainians have endured and achieved so much in this war because we have united not only within our state but also kept the world united for the right cause – for Ukraine and for everything that makes our world humane and capable of defeating evil. Our unity must continue to be preserved – everyone here in Ukraine, everyone in Europe, and the world who values Ukraine and life. This August, we are preparing news about greater consolidation of our people and everyone worldwide who helps us.

Luxembourg will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine and will further contribute to protecting the lives of our people. Today in our city of Pavlohrad, the Russians killed people with drones who were simply near shopping malls. As of now, four people have been reported killed… My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than 60 people were wounded in this strike alone. Everyone is receiving the necessary assistance. Dozens of people were also wounded in Kramatorsk by Russian bombs that struck residential buildings. Other cities and communities in the Dnipro and Donetsk regions, as well as the Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions, also came under attack. In the evening, Dnipro and Kyiv were also targeted. We are working as intensively as possible with our partners so that we can protect Ukrainians from this Russian terror. Today, there will be decisions on additional support packages for Ukraine, including defense assistance and support specifically for protecting our skies. We are also preparing additional support packages. The world sees what Russia is doing. And Ukraine will have support. One hundred percent of our attention is focused on this now – concrete strengthening of our defense, concrete funding for defense, and concrete opportunities for weapons manufacturers to protect lives. Sweden's military assistance to Ukraine in 2024-2026 will total around €6.5 billion. The amount of assistance will increase over the document's ten-year term. The agreement includes the provision of the specialized ASC 890 aircraft, as well as the possibility of providing Ukraine with JAS 39 Gripen aircraft, including relevant training. We will also expand bilateral cooperation in the localization, repair, maintenance, and production of Swedish defense products in our country. I am grateful to Sweden for its solidarity with our country and people, as well as for its vital defense assistance. 🇺🇦🇸🇪

Throughout these days, I have been in constant communication with our military, receiving daily reports from the Commander-in-Chief and continuous updates from the Defense Minister and intelligence services about the situation on the frontlines, particularly in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, as well as our warriors’ needs and other essential details. Today's meetings at the G7 Summit focused on accelerating the delivery of pledged packages to Ukraine. The key outcome is that there will be more air defense for our cities. “Patriots” is already becoming a Ukrainian word. Additionally, there will be more equipment and other essential supplies for the frontlines. A significant decision regarding the use of Russian assets for Ukraine has been made, marking the first substantial step by the G7 toward $50 billion. I thank our partners for their support.

More new and powerful weapons for the frontline, more protection for our people from 🇷🇺 terror, more political support. At all the meetings we discussed our Peace Formula, and now there is more willingness of our partners to follow the 🇺🇦 formula. There is more support for our accession to the EU, more understanding that Ukraine's accession to NATO is inevitable. So, the main results of these days are: new weapons for 🇺🇦, respect for Ukrainians, and our victory has been brought closer. Kudos to everyone who helps!

Together with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Washington, we signed a security agreement between our two countries. We have set out specific points of cooperation to strengthen security in the Black Sea region. Ukraine will receive the Patriot system and support for our defense industry from Romania. Additionally, Romania, along with our partners, will assist the F-16 training center for Ukrainian pilots. I’m grateful for every expression of solidarity with our country and people. 🇺🇦🇷🇴

Our international activities for February are planned by the day. There will be more negotiations, meetings, and new agreements for Ukraine, which will strengthen our warriors. We are also currently working with a few countries on new security commitments, and the agreements we are preparing have the potential to be quite ambitious and substantive. I am grateful to the diplomatic teams involved in this work. We must show results in the coming months in developing the architecture of security agreements that will send positive signals throughout the year. These will be signals of effective and long-term support for Ukraine, as well as our partners' confidence in Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russian aggression. The world is ready to practically help only those whose strength is evident.

We continue our work in Washington and are soon expecting a decision on F-16s to increase the number of aircraft available to Ukraine. Yesterday, we secured 5 more Patriot systems and dozens of other air defense systems. Today, a decision on aircraft is also expected. We will also finalize two new security agreements, which include support for sanctions against Russia, our accession to the EU and NATO, the protection of our soldiers and people, and reconstruction efforts. There will be at least ten meetings with world leaders. I am grateful to our entire team for their work. Today, we will also have meetings in the U.S. Congress with both parties and both chambers. We appreciate American support and will discuss how to achieve even more positive results in our cooperation with the United States – ideally, long-range and far-reaching.
