Microplastics are everywhere - in water, food and our bodies. Why banning plastic isn't enough and how science proposes to neutralize this threat. Are you ready to completely remove plastic from your life right now or you think that's impossible?

Microplastics are in your blood, organs, and brain — and most water filters can't catch them. A 2024 study found okra's natural mucilage removes up to 93% of microplastics in contaminated water. Educational content — consult your healthcare provider. #microplastics #okrawater #naturalhealth #wellness #healthtips #drmercola

Still drinking water from plastic bottles? A recent study found that microplastics exposure increases the risks of having a heart attack. (PMID: 38446676) Drinking water from plastic bottles is the biggest source of microplastics. Get plastic out of your life and your health will improve significantly!

If you're drinking bottled water, you're probably drinking plastic Plastic bottles often go through extreme heat during shipping and storage, especially in warmer climates, which accelerates the leaching of toxic chemicals To truly remove microplastics from your drinking water, a reverse osmosis filter is your best bet: Good countertop options include APEC & Aquatru (both <$500)

We cannot regulate what we do not understand. Through ARPA-H, we are launching STOMP—Systematic Targeting of Microplastics—to measure exposure, define risk, and remove microplastics from the human body.

Bryan Johnson reveals that water from glass bottles has MORE microplastics than water from plastic bottles ''When you look at the data, the microplastics don't come from the glass, they come from the lid and it's the paint that goes in the lid and then it chips off'' ''That's why it's very counterintuitive. You think a plastic water bottle is made of plastic and a glass water bottle is made of glass. The glass bottle has more microplastics than the plastic bottle. This is why testing is the best thing to do, it's very dangerous to have assumptions''

They call it cancer. I call it microplastic toxicity. 🦠 They tell you the cause of cancer is "unknown." Meanwhile, they wrap our food, water, and lives in plastic. 💳 From your brain to your gut, microplastics are clogging your system and preventing true healing. 🚫 This is your sign to start detoxing from microplastics. My recommended ingredient is liquid micronized zeolite. It’s a binder, and acts like a magnet for heavy metals, toxins and microplastics. But be sure to take it only on an EMPTY stomach!

Microplastics have been found in 100% of sperm samples tested. Studies show microplastics are linked to abnormal sperm shape and impaired motility, which means sperm can’t move as efficiently—bad news for fertility. 31% of the microplastics found in sperm come from polystyrene, a plastic commonly used in food packaging. Even worse, polyvinyl chloride (PVC)—used in water pipes—breaks down and leaches microplastics into tap water, a major source of exposure. Microplastics often contain BPA, a known endocrine disruptor that mimics estrogen. Research shows that men with higher BPA levels have significantly lower testosterone and reduced sperm quality. Reducing exposure is key: avoid heating plastics, use stainless steel or glass for drinking, and filter tap water with systems like reverse osmosis that remove microplastics. The goal is not panic—but informed action. To learn more about how microplastics impact reproductive health, the brain, the cardiovascular system, and hormones, check out episode 95 of the FoundMyFitness Podcast. Show notes:

How do microplastics invade us? • Ingestion: Up to 5g of plastic WEEKLY from food and water (exact amount still being studied). • Inhalation: we breathe up to 22 million particles/year. • Skin contact: Direct contact with microplastics leads to exposure. And the bad news?
