It will not be raw ping. Ping is the average. Jitter is the variation. Packet loss is the missing data. A stable 40–60 ms connection is frequently more playable than a spiky 10–20 ms one, because the game can actually predict and compensate for consistent delay. Instability breaks that.

For some reason, I was expecting Ninja to get his head blown smooth off as he was explaining.

I’ve read really high ping favours client side over server side so he’s right can work both ways. Low ping is great but only when you’re versing the same or similar ping.

Bigger question - why does ping vary based on match difficulty? When I get "easy" lobbies my ping is about 35-45. In difficult lobbies it is between 55-75. And no, its not just some random ping fluctuation. And no, the lobby isn't easier because of the ping - the low ping lobbies have lower skill players and more bots.

Talking about Ghost ping from the Gunz days lol. Anything higher than 40 ping yoy have to lead the target to where their client says they are. Not where they currently are, so if they move to hide behind a pillar, ur shooting their after image.

My theory is that there’s a new anti cheat running in the background. Like a server in a server.

In the age of “everyone needs to have a chance” capitalism gaming they introduced lag compensation. LC actually ruins the game dynmaic by allowing low ping players to die to high ping players, whoever got the shot first should always win but thats not how they do it.

Rtt is what youre looking for ping one way just shows your connection tonwhatever server so if its 10 to connect its 10 to come back ultimately 20ms . If thr guy has 80 his ping is actually 160

desync is the server reporting the players last known location, if you have better ping and higher frames your likely gonna be on the winning end of the desync. you guys are braindead if you can’t understand that.
