“Ninja Scroll” is a 1993 Japanese animated film set in feudal Japan. It follows Jubei Kibagami, a mercenary swordsman, who battles the Eight Devils of Kimon—ninja with supernatural powers. Jubei’s quest to thwart their plan to overthrow the Tokugawa shogunate leads him to ally with Dakuan, a crafty spy, and Kagero, a ninja whose body carries a deadly poison. The film is known for its animation and action sequences, and it has been influential in popularizing adult-oriented anime outside of Japan.

This was the one!! This is what started my love for anime… my brother recorded it on vhs and we watched it damn near everyday for about a year
