They should make one that plays all region NES and SNES games and lets you also insert a SD card with Roms to play everything as well as the OG cartridge versions of course it probably wouldn't be legal, but Nintendo deserve it lol

not a Famicom, but I bought an SFC while in Tokyo, and it literally came with the exact same baggies and twist ties they really know how to take care of things!

March 7, 1991 was the day the arcade version of Street Fighter II appeared, and this year marks its 35th anniversary. It was the game that sparked the fighting game boom. I first learned about the existence of the Super Famicom through the news that Street Fighter II was coming to it. By the way, it’s really funny that the back of the Korean release of Street Fighter II shows screenshots from Final Fight instead of the actual game. 😄

Did you know the original The Legend of Zelda was first released on the Famicom Disk System, not NES? Because it came on a floppy disk format, it allowed players to SAVE their progress — a groundbreaking feature at the time. Later on, it was re-released in NES and Famicom cartridge form, and that’s probably the version most gamers experienced first. The floppy disk version of Zelda is originally yellow, but I swapped the shell using a gold cartridge from another game and made myself a golden Zelda floppy disk. Pretty cool, right?

Let me introduce Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Konami, a game based on the popular animated series. The animation itself was incredibly fun, but the game was just as great. In particular, the Super Famicom version was an excellent port with outstanding quality.

The very first CD-ROM game console was the PC Engine. It’s actually an 8-bit system that came out before the 16-bit consoles like the Super Famicom and the Mega Drive. But thanks to the huge storage capacity of CDs, it offered impressive graphics and CD-quality sound.

Nintendo had a plan to build a CD-ROM adapter for SuperFamicom. Sony suggested it and it almost came out like that picture. But Nintendo overturned the project and Sony developed a prototype. A few years ago, I built a prototype with a real PlayStation 1 based on that picture.

It reminds me of when Final Fantasy VII was released back in 1997. Both game shops and gamers were in a festive mood. Final Fantasy VI, the masterpiece on the Super Famicom, was only 4 megabytes, but Final Fantasy VII, spread across three CDs, was truly shocking at the time.-

If SNK had the Neo Geo AES, Capcom had the CPS Changer. Both were designed to let people enjoy arcade games at home, but unlike the AES, the CPS Changer wasn’t really built as a traditional home console from the ground up. In many ways, it felt more like an official supergun made by Capcom themselves. It even supported the Super Famicom CPS Fighter stick. A lot of people had the chance to experience MVS hardware thanks to the AES, but the CPS Changer was much rarer, so not many people ever got to see one in person. When you first connect it to a TV, the controller gives off a bit of a Super Famicom vibe, but once the game starts, the polished graphics and incredible sound immediately make it clear that you’re basically playing real arcade hardware at home.
