United Airlines is using dynamic pricing This plane ticket says it’s $752. Once you out in the travelers information it says “Based on traveler information provided, the price of your ticket has changed” The price went from $752.20 -> $1,156.20 United see the trackers age was older so automatically drastically increased the ticket price Airlines started holding ‘separate fare buckets’ for different passenger categories. So now for the same seat, you can be sorted into age categories and have your price go up based on what United Airlines says their inventory is for each seat category This is dynamic pricing adjustments It’s only going to get worse if we let this continue

American companies have moved on from just shrinking their products Now they are shrinking their products AND decreasing the primary ingredients inside Example: Tyson chicken nuggets - The bag used to be 2 pounds, not it’s 29 ounces. Thats 11% less for the same price - The serving size used to be 270 calories, now for the same amount of nuggets you get 210 calories and less protein - How they did that was, they decreased the amount of chicken you get in each nugget and added more water and fiber So now Americans are getting robbed with both “Shrinkflation” and “Skimflation” We keep paying more for less

If you own a Home Services business and you’re pricing by the hour STOP. In home services there is a pricing paradox that occurs when quoting a job for a customer. Customers want the work performed to high quality standards and also done in a timely manner. Often as quickly as possible. Signaling that they value time. However, the second a plumber, electrician, HVAC contractor, etc gets the work done in less time that the customer anticipated, they have a problem with the price. Assuming they should be charged less because it took less time. That’s now how things work. You’re paying for experience and craftsmanship not an hourly rate. Contractors should be incentivized to maximize adding value to their customers. Not drag things out (or cut corners) because they need to hit a labor target. You’re holding back your talented team who could get the job done more efficiently if they were incentivized properly. You’re also backing yourself into a corner with customers by anchoring them with a labor allowance. Price by the job not the hour.
