Some people will never grasp the reality that the government has nothing it didn't take from its citizens.
Needs ≠ rights... Anything that requires the labor of someone else, cannot be compelled to do it for free... 'Just' compensation for the exchange of someone else's labor is a 'just' society... Anything else is communism and forced labor, AKA forced slavery...
If you want to live in a commune, no one is stopping you. Get with 20 other families and have a ball! But don’t FORCE me to be part of your commune!
The problem is that most people are first-order thinkers who don't understand cause and effect and think all food comes from the grocery store, and they have no understanding of how it gets there in the first place.
Free food and Housing? That sounds an awful lot like communism to me.
They are rights like guns are rights; you still have to pay for them. No one is entitled to someone else's labor or resources.
