SECOND ATTACK ON LAW ENFORCEMENT IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS IN THE WASHINGTON DC AREA🚨 This afternoon, Montgomery County police officers were shot at from point-blank range while out on proactive patrol at the Cider Mill Apartments on Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village, Maryland. Luckily, the suspect missed every shot, while police returned fire and shot the armed suspect in the torso and leg. He was then transported by MCFRS to a trauma center and is expected to survive. Fortunately, no police officers were injured in the shooting. This comes just LESS THAN 24 HOURS after a US Park police officer was ambushed by two suspects and shot while sitting in a car in Southeast Washington DC yesterday evening. The US Park police officer has since been released from the hospital, and two suspects have been arrested for the shooting. We wish that officer a speedy recovery.

OFF-ROAD RV: Scott County officers were just in pursuit of an RV, with a suspect driver reportedly wanted in relation to an assault earlier today. The driver was northbound Hwy. 169, took eastbound Old Shakopee Rd., then entered southbound I-35W. Officers attempted a PIT maneuver as the suspect entered the interstate and terminated their pursuit when it was unsuccessful. The suspect exited I-35W at River Ridge Blvd., continued eastbound and eventually crashed near Cliff Fen Park, 120 Cliff Rd. E., in Burnsville. The suspect then fled on foot into some nearby woods but was apprehended after a canine was deployed. EMS was requested to respond to the park for the suspect's multiple dog bites.

SAINT PAUL: Police were in pursuit of suspects spotted breaking into a vehicle and stealing tires on the 2000 block of Yorkshire Avenue. They fled in a white Cadillac Escalade with a black hood and blocked plates, eastbound on Yorkshire as the first officers arrived on scene around 1:25 a.m. The vehicle was initially lost, but a SPPD officer found it again, eastbound on 7th Street toward Montreal Avenue. The officer initiated a pursuit, and the suspect driver fled at speeds around 80 mph, eastbound on 7th, then onto Osceola Avenue before making it onto northbound I-35E from Grand Avenue, with speeds reported in excess of 100 mph. The suspect continued northbound on I-35E and exited at Maryland Avenue E., where officers successfully deployed stopsticks to deflate the tires. Both the driver and passenger then bailed on foot near Maryland Avenue E. & Ruth Street N. Officers deployed a Taser to take one of the suspects into custody and the other was in cuffs by around 1:45 a.m., with the stolen tires recovered and en route back to their owner. Medics were also paged to evaluate the male suspect who was Tased after the pursuit.

The incident happened a short time ago on Beckett Street, just outside St James’s Hospital. The attacked bus remains at the scene, with police officers present as the investigation continues. A driver led police on a pursuit Sunday evening around 7 p.m. after initially fleeing a traffic stop in East Bethel for equipment and seatbelt violations. State Patrol first attempted the stop near Highway 65 and Viking Blvd. NE after noticing the vehicle had no rear lights and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver fled and began driving the wrong way southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 65. Troopers discontinued the pursuit due to safety concerns. The driver later corrected, and Anoka County deputies re-engaged the pursuit in Blaine. Authorities say the driver again drove the wrong way on Highway 65, continuing onto County Rd. 10 and then Interstate 694 before exiting onto Lexington Ave. in Shoreview, where Ramsey County deputies took over. The pursuit continued south on Lexington Ave. N. to Highway 36, then west to Interstate 35W into Minneapolis. Deputies successfully deployed stop sticks, but the driver continued at a high rate of speed and the pursuit was again called off. The vehicle exited into downtown Minneapolis, where dispatchers lost visual tracking through traffic cameras. Officers are searching the area for the driver, and the State Patrol airplane will be overhead to assist shortly.
