Earlier, such harassment was mostly limited to Sleeper and General coaches, where groups of transgender individuals would often create uncomfortable situations for passengers. But now, the situation has worsened they are entering Third AC coaches as well and troubling people without hesitation. Passengers pay full fare expecting a safe and peaceful journey, not to be left dealing with harassment on their own. It’s the responsibility of Indian Railways to ensure proper security across all classes, not leave travelers at the mercy of such situations. There was not even enough space to walk to the washroom. People were sleeping on the floor, near the doors, and everywhere possible. The TC came and saw everything, but did not say a single word. It looks like this has become normal for Indian Railways. I have sympathy for these passengers, but if Railways already know that general coach passengers are more, then why not add more general coaches? Why are sleeper coaches being turned into general coaches every day? For years, passengers have been raising the same issue, posting photos and videos, tagging officials, and still nothing changes. Indian Railways talks about modernization and new trains, but what about basic crowd management and passenger safety in normal trains? And please, do not ask me for the PNR. What a cruel joke this has become for the people of Uttarakhand. We have all seen the condition of government schools. During the monsoon, children risk their lives crossing broken roads and dangerous rivers just to attend classes. And now it has gone even further. Children are not safe from leopards and bears. Wild animals are entering school areas. Children are no longer just struggling to study. They are running for their lives inside and around schools. Education cannot come at the cost of survival. This is not resilience. This is neglect being normalised.
