Been saying since ages anything about 40 in CS2 is waste of time. I get 55 ping on faceit and I stopped playing it. Can't do anything again competent players in that ping. Had no issue in CSGO. It was more than playable even in 80 ping

if you load up CSGO right now and play on a custom server with ~130ms+ ping and then go back to CS2, you will genuinely see how much better the net code was. ~130ms CSGO feels like ~70-80ms CS2 ~130ms+ in CS2 is abhorent in comparison

Something that made my game much smoother recently, even with high ping, was AMD anti lag. I had an Nvidia GPU before, reflex felt very odd for some reason and I didn't use it, but anti lag made my game very smooth even on 40+ ping.
