We need less focus on daddy government and more focus on ourselves and what WE are doing. Black Wall Street is a perfect example of this. I’ve encouraged y’all to vote for years. So today I don’t give a damn about who feels shamed — because some of y’all need to be shamed. One day into early voting. Democrats turned out 35,498 voters. Republicans 32,051. But 901,000 Black registered voters in Louisiana have not moved yet. How bad does it have to get? They have to put the sign up on the plantation for you to take this shit serious? Jefferson Parish — 68,500 Black voters sitting at home. Caddo — 70,000. Lafayette — 37,500. These are not small numbers. These are elections. I don’t care that Democrats are outperforming Republicans. I care that Black people have the numbers to send a real message and too many are sitting on their asses. Voting NO on all 5 of Jeff Landry’s amendments sends a message to a legislature that is coming for your representation right now. Your life costs more. Your world is less safe. This lady was in a hurry to run into Walmart to grab a few items and parked in the handicap zone illegally. A cop happened to be driving thru and saw the car and stopped when they didn't see a handicap tag. The lady accused the officer of stopping only because she was black and the officer had a white power trip. The woman shouldn't have even been driving, no License and a warrant for no show, used her kids as an accuse to not go to jail or court because of children services. Yet the officer still was going to let her go with just a ticket but ended up arresting her anyway. If someone is using the race card against you, would you give in and not do your job properly?

Receptionist immediately blocks the officer: “You have to wait for him to come in here, sir.” Officer: “I’m here on official police business.” Principal walks in, stands over everyone, and declares she “personally doesn’t feel comfortable” speaking with the officer because of “the way” he’s acting. She adds the student “made this threat… which he said he was just playing.” Officer fires back: “You called us. You should be welcoming us.” “I don’t know what in your life happened that you hate us so much that you don’t want to cooperate.” Watch every second. Don’t let the “Get to do” crowd make you think that doing things you have to or need to isn’t where you’re supposed to be. We don’t have all have glamorous jobs or our dream jobs. Normally those are the jobs that people say they “Get to” do. Nothing is wrong with grinding to the bone until you’re you’re own boss or working from the bottom aiming for the time. Shoot, sometimes it’s about making sure everyone in your house is fed, cared for and clothed. Doing what has to be done is a necessity. It doesn’t make you a failure. It makes you a survivor. Don’t let the “Get to do” crowd make you think that doing things you have to or need to isn’t where you’re supposed to be. We don’t have all have glamorous jobs or our dream jobs. Normally those are the jobs that people say they “Get to” do. Nothing is wrong with grinding to the bone until you’re you’re own boss or working from the bottom aiming for the time. Shoot, sometimes it’s about making sure everyone in your house is fed, cared for and clothed. Doing what has to be done is a necessity. It doesn’t make you a failure. It makes you a survivor. Let’s go to work.
