What the Iranians came to us and said is, "We'd like not to release the text until Friday." I didn't really understand that—I wanted to get the text out immediately. But in order to be accommodating to them, we said, "Sure, okay, we'll wait until Friday." And then what happened over Monday and Tuesday, while the President was at the G7, is that maybe foreign leaders were talking to the Iranians and encouraging them to do that. 💾 I renamed it to because AltaVista is still owned by Yahoo so I didn't wanna infringe 🔎 is a fully functional search engine and proxy that lets ANY old browser browse most of the web with just HTTP (instead of HTTPS), it converts modern web pages to something that any old device can access (like removing JavaScript code) So now devices like your old Apple II, Commodore 64, Atari ST, Amiga, 486 PC, Dreamcast or PS2 can access the modern internet too! 🤓 And it's great for Kindles too because it converts most webpages to easy-to-read text ☺️

How good is GPT-4-Vision at extracting text from images? I wanted to find the limit - but I found weirdness instead Most surprising: GPT-4V performance varies depending on the *structure* of text it sees Let me explain A set of images with progressively more text was presented to GPT-4-Vision. GPT-4V was asked what text it saw in the image. The response from the model was compared against the image’s original text and scored for similarity. The model was tested with 4 types of text: essay, random words, random tokens, and random characters. Findings: * Performance degrades - Yes, the models are good at basic OCR, but as you get more text and words then performance drops (this is expected) * Type of context matters - You should expect different recall on your texts based on your context types * Hallucination Errors - I thought that the model would make errors of omission (it wouldn’t return all the words). But instead the model mostly made hallucination errors - it replaced words with made up words. * Evals Matter - This test in isolation doesn’t mean that your data will have the same results, but it should motivate you to create eval tests for your data and anticipate errors which are hard to spot Notes: * Next step would be to add additional image types like tables or PDFs * GPT-4V would routinely get stuck in repeat-token-loops when trying to extract random tokens * GPT-4V would refuse to answer most random character images

Copilot AI in Microsoft 365 is underrated. I created a PowerPoint in 40 seconds. For the example I just described what I wanted to create, and Copilot generated for me: - Slides - Illustrations - Text - Presenter notes All thanks to the power of GPT-4. But you can also modify what's already been created. You can add text, modify existing text or create a new illustration with Dall-E 3. It's like having ChatGPT Plus directly integrated into PowerPoint. People don't realize the impact Copilot will have and what it can do. Note: I've speeded up some of the loading to make the video more pleasant to watch. But it's still very fast.

My biggest annoyances with VS Code (and in turn Cursor) is I've never been able to get Find + Multi-Cursor with arrow keys working like I did in Sublime Text I use it a lot to edit lists of text fast I go Cmd+Find "SGD" for example, then Find All, then I literally have 10 cursors on every SGD, I can arrow key through the letters around it, or use Option/Alt-Left or Right to skip through words, or Command-Left or Right to to the beginning or the end of the line Then I can use Shift to select I'm super fast at editing like that but none of the shortcuts work in VS Code or Cursor similarly The internet says use Cmd+Shift+L to do it, but all that happens in Cursor is I end up in the AI chat and I don't wanna go there

I've been playing with a feature for my prose editor, I call "ghost cut". Y'all know how to cut and paste. You hit ctrl+x, the text disappears and goes into the clipboard. Then you move the caret and ctrl+v to paste it into a new location. You've done that a bazillion times, I bet. An annoyance I have with this is that as soon as you cut, the text reflows—and you have to reorient yourself in the "page". The solution I'm playing with is to ghost the text that was just cut. It only disappears from view once you paste it. I'm kinda liking it so far. But there is more testing to be done. Does anyone know of any precedence for this? I've not seen this in any editor or word processor.

Assumptions about the new "Can More" ChatGPT tool were right - ChatGPT is introducing own take on Claude Artifacts - code & document writing tools with persisted text documents, history revisions (restore previous version), edits and comments (probably used to apply suggested edits) New document symbol in the top navigation shows how many documents you have and allows you to open a resizable canvas to edit them in split view - your ChatGPT conversation on the left side and canvas on the right side, but the code/documents can also be accessed in fullscreen view The canvas is built using ProseMirror (open source WYSIWYM editor) and has an inline action to "Ask ChatGPT" (explain or make edits) for your document and code plus document formatting tools (like bold, italic, font style, etc.) But in addition to that, there are also special action shortcuts for documents and code, with an interesting decision to use sliders for the selection of the desired outcome For Documents - Suggest edits ("How can I improve this. I spent 5 hours today making OpenClaw even better at Motion Graphics I created the video below in 2 prompts with no asset uploads. It scraped or generated everything from a text prompt. I've added: - better brand scraping - image generation - video generation - music generation and scraping - better transitions on first prompt - basically zero errors - Always outputs a link to the editor you see below so I can open it from any device... (I can create and edit from telegram) Still work to do I will make a video this weekend and release the skill. It's the best remotion skill that exists imo.

I figured out why the text message Candace sent to Andrew and Charlie. I remembered something this afternoon. TPUsa setup a website stating that Charlie is not Candace and Candace WAS NOT a TPUsa employee. Guess what date. Bet you can’t. Yep 5/3/2024. Same day she sent the text. She saw the news article and the website. And what she’s not including in this text is her asking about it. 100%. Damn Charlie just tell her already. It took you until after DW to fire her for you to tell her she wouldn’t be on anymore tours or Amfest. And you made Andrew tell her. Then you told her it was the donors fault. But then you put Ben in her place. Why are all these people so scared of her?
