Okay, this is absolutely WILD – Apple’s new Sharp model is even more impressive on Vision Pro when you place it exactly where the original photo was taken. Since we’ll probably never have snow on Christmas again, seeing my parents’ garden covered in snow once more made me really... show more

Again tried more snow from the Tulsa area…this time with matches. Still has that plastic smell to it. I know many listen to Grok who will tell you the lie. But we have all seen the chem trails. Believe what you will. I grew up in snow and this is nothing I have seen!

This morning was the first time I saw snow in Ukraine and it was so beautiful. I still can’t believe this country is being bombed every single day. It’s the most beautiful and motivated and driven county I’ve been set foot in and I can’t wait to celebrate Christmas here. Anyone that is skeptical about Ukraine - I urge to you come here and see how it is for yourself. It’s amazing ❤️🫡🇺🇦

When I am not writing geography threads, I spend my time going into the Scottish Highlands to find patches of snow left over from last winter. Today was just such a day. I even made a short video. I believe this is what 𝕏 calls “original content”.

New paper from Apple - Sharp Monocular View Synthesis in Less than a Second Mescheder et al. @ Apple just released a very impressive paper (congrats! 🎉🥳). You give it an image and it generates a really great looking 3d Gaussian representation. Uses depth pro. It's really good. The model is about 3GB, and takes ~5-10s on my M1 Max per image. Single feedforward pass network. The video is using "Metal Splatter" to view the .ply from ml-sharp on Apple Vision Pro. Some really wow moments today trying it on different scenes.

What are the odds of coming from a place like this and still making it in life? I’ve given millions of dollars to charity, but every time I leave a community like this, I realize that I still have so much more to do. Giving is important, but creating lasting change is even greater. Which is why I created a jobs in the state that impacted hundreds of people lives on a daily basis. Seeing the reality that so many people face reminds me that my purpose goes beyond personal success. I have a responsibility to do more, reach more people, create more opportunities, and make a greater impact on the lives of others. Success means more when you use it to help someone else rise.

A bartender that doesn’t drink just exposed why he’ll never touch alcohol again 👀 He says bartending is the biggest anti-drinking campaign on earth. Every single night he watches it turn people into versions of themselves they’d never recognize sober: • Louder. Dumber. More emotional. More aggressive. • Cheating on their spouses. • Crying over exes. • Blowing money they don’t have. • Getting arrested… then waking up the next morning pretending it never happened. “The more shifts I work behind the bar, the more I believe that sobriety is probably gonna be the thing for me for life.” This is the rawest take I’ve seen in a long time. I bartended while in college and remember some very wild nights. I always had a story to tell the next day. But looking back, this guy is right.

The goal of our hike the other day was to climb to the summit of Mt. Judah at Donner Pass. We tried a few years ago, but there was still snow on the trail, and we couldn't finish. This year the snow is all gone, and we actually made it to the top. It was really warm, and when that sun hits you on the open slopes, it's hot! Notice how steep the terrain is. There is one section where you walk on a single track, and to your left is a very steep drop. I had to keep my eyes on Monica and not look down. I didn't film that part. It's a bit vertigo-inducing. I was huffing and puffing, but we made it. Coordinates: 39°17'54.88"N 120°18'56.69"W

Let me take you back in time to our one and only white Christmas on record. On this day in 1989, a snowstorm was raging across the eastern Carolinas, and it didn't stop until Christmas Eve. When it was all said and done, more than a foot of snow had fallen in Myrtle Beach and along the Grand Strand, and most of it was still on the ground on Christmas morning. People were skiing on the beaches! I was 23 years old living on Marine Corps Air Station - New River in Jacksonville, NC and was in heaven with near blizzard conditions and 17" at my house. BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!

The next level after pornography is gaysim. That is where my life was headed. Tell me why I was okay with waking up in the morning and the first thing I was doing is watching another man on screen have sex. I was seeing more penises than some women I ever going to see in a week

Film director grows visibly uncomfortable on-air as Piers Morgan presses him about a newly-unsealed photo of him with Epstein. MORGAN: “What is your response to that picture?” BRETT RATNER: “That picture in particular happened around 20 years ago… because that is a photo of my fiancée, who invited me to this event, and that’s where the picture was taken.” “I was never in contact with Jeffrey Epstein before that photo, and I was never in contact with him after. So that’s a picture of me and my fiancée at some event.” MORGAN: “So who was the fiancée, if you don’t mind me asking?” RATNER: “You know, she doesn’t want me sharing her name in the case. But that’s my fiancée, 100% — WAS my fiancée!” MORGAN: “But you’re not still [with her]?” RATNER: “I’m not with her anymore... I was engaged to her when that photo was taken.” MORGAN: “Right. And your position is you never met Epstein before or after that picture that night?” RATNER: “No. Never. Never. Never.”

In 1994, the first 32-bit next-generation console appeared, and it was the 3DO. What surprised me the most was that Super Street Fighter II X, which was hugely popular in arcades at the time, was available on this system. I still remember standing in a game shop, completely mesmerized, staring at that game for a long time. I was really hoping it would come out on the Super Famicom too, but maybe because of hardware limitations, it never did. That made it even more shocking. By the way, the model I’m talking about is the 3DO ALIVE 2 made by LG Electronics. For a lot of foreign friends, this is probably something they’ve never seen before.

Christopher Nolan is the only thing on my mind. I’m seeing The Odyssey in 9 days and it feels an eternity. I can’t wait any longer & every review makes me more impatient. I still can’t believe some of you on this app doubted Nolan even for a second. This man cares too much about Cinema to let us down. I can’t wait.

My most revealing photo..i don't know how old i was in this photo, since i still don't have any memories then, but it looks like i'm very much a baby here.. maybe not even a hundred days old. The reason i chose this photo is, i think it will be the hottest/most popular photo, right? My skin can be seen well. Um, really? Are we comparing whose architectural feature is bigger now? You didn’t even build the reflecting pool. It was built 102 years ago. All you did was break federal contracting laws to have it recoated on a no-bid contract. In a time when children are suffering and seeing food assistance cut off, is this really what we’re focused on?

Apple’s new Gaussian Splat model seems like the perfect tech for a native Maps app on Vision Pro. Imagine an immersive version of Look Around where you can actually walk through cities and explore places from every angle, in 3D. I tried it with some of my favorite places, and it genuinely feels like being there again. It’s wild that this works from just a single image.

This is the most meaningful announcement I have been part of in the Base ecosystem, a journey I have been on since day one. As a content creator who later added the builder tag to my identity, hearing this announcement while building my TravelMint mini app made it even more special. And listening to it with jesse.base.eth ’s excitement… That was the moment I felt proud of both myself and my project. Now it is time to work even harder, onboard more people to Base and accelerate the vision, infrastructure and reach of my project. Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. Just as it is still day one for Base, it is still day one for both TravelMint and me. 🟦🇹🇷
