Old “veritable arm” amputated. A new one taking shape? That phrase dates back to 2011, when Mike Mullen told the US Senate that the Haqqani Network functioned as a “veritable arm” of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence, a remark that echoed through two decades of debate about the role of GHQ...

Taliban members recently shared an old video on the social media platform X, showing Sirajuddin Haqqani and his brother, Badruddin Haqqani, bidding farewell to a young teenage suicide bomber named Jamaluddin. In a post accompanying the video, Taliban member Abdullah Raihan explained that the footage captures the moment when "Jamaluddin was sent on a mission to assassinate a foreign leader at the time." Raihan added that "Jamaluddin did not succeed in his mission that day." The exact time and location of the video recording are unknown. In addition to Sirajuddin Haqqani, the current Taliban interior minister, Badruddin Haqqani is also seen in the video. Badruddin, Sirajuddin's brother, was known as "one of the two main figures in the Haqqani family-led network." Raihan also mentioned that "Badruddin had prepared and directed dozens of suicide bombers for complex and successful operations that left the enemy shocked and stunned." The Taliban member further noted that Jamaluddin was eventually killed alongside Badruddin Haqqani in a US drone strike. However, he did not specify the location of Badruddin's assassination. The Haqqani family confirmed to the media in 2012 that Badruddin Haqqani was killed on 24 August 2012, in a US strike in North Waziristan, Pakistan. Most of the suicide attacks against Afghanistan over the past 20 years were planned and directed from North Waziristan, Pakistan. According to human rights organisations, many of the Taliban's suicide bombers were children and teenagers who had been "brainwashed" by the group.

#BalochistanBriefing 1st April 2026 Pakistan's military and civil administration is afraid to visit the venue of the blast at Akhterabad Killi Khali Quetta. After three days the occupational forces of Pakistan are failed to take control of the area. This location is situated 10km away from Quetta cantonment. Amid rising tensions and the possibility of war between Pakistan and Afghanistan, there are growing reports of mass resignations by Pashtun nationals from the Pakistani Army, Frontier Corps, and police forces. According to some Pashtun social media handles, there are about 163 Pashtun personnel in the FC who have taken premature retirement from their services. Pashtuns on both sides of the Durand Line are increasingly uniting and recognizing that Pakistan itself has been the root cause of conflict and division in the region. At the same time, reports are emerging of a widespread Baloch uprising across the Republic of Balochistan. The Baloch masses have reportedly joined hands with a common objective: to cut off the flow of energy and resources that Pakistan depends on. It is important to note that Pakistan’s Punjab province does not possess significant reserves of oil, gas, coal, copper, or other major natural resources. Much of the wealth that sustains Pakistan’s economy comes from resources extracted from Balochistan. The people of the Republic of Balochistan have now decided to block illegal mining and disrupt what they consider the unlawful exploitation of their national wealth. There is a growing sentiment that Balochistan’s resources should benefit its own people first, rather than being misuse by Pakistan's radical forces and corrupt politician to spread terrorism in Afghanistan, India and fund Pakistan's war against the Baloch nation. Once the Baloch succeed in cutting off the flow of their natural resources to Pakistan, it is confirmed that they could severely damage Pakistan’s fragile economy within a short period of few months. As some Baloch activists say, “Balochistan holds the PIN code to the ATM that Pakistan has been using for decades,” a metaphor suggesting that the country’s economic lifeline is deeply tied to the loot and plunder of trillion dollar worth of Balochistan’s natural wealth.
