Suspect vehicle and altercation - On October 12, 2024, Sheriff T.K. Waters, alongside Undersheriff Shawn Coarsey, joined Chief of Investigation Alan Parker to provide details leading up to the murder of one of our Corrections Officers. At approximately 1:20 a.m., in the 12900 block of Duval Road, a black Mustang occupied by a black male (suspect) and a female, were involved in a violent dispute. During the argument, the suspect was observed exiting the vehicle from the passenger seat and walking around to the driver’s side. The suspect then placed a black handgun on the hood of the vehicle and removed the female from the driver’s seat. The male proceeded to batter the female, violently throwing her against the vehicle and the ground. During the commotion, off-duty Corrections Officer Bradley McNew #7697, who just finished his shift, heard the disturbance and went to check on the female victim. The suspect approached Officer McNew, stating it was a family matter, then re-engaged with the female before pointing the gun in Officer McNew’s direction. The suspect and female eventually returned to the vehicle. As they left the scene, the suspect was observed hanging out of the window, firing the firearm, and ultimately striking Officer McNew. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. This is an ongoing investigation, and we ask the public to remain vigilant and consider the suspect armed and dangerous. The vehicle was reported heading northbound on Main Street towards Nassau County. It is a 2000s black Mustang with North Carolina license plate RHL-4285. Please do not approach the suspect or vehicle; call 911 immediately if observed.

Quick thinking #DCSO deputies catch another auto theft suspect. On Monday night, patrol deputies responded to a report of an in-progress vehicle theft on Mill Vista Road in Highlands Ranch. Responding deputies quickly established a perimeter and began searching the area. The vehicle was located, occupied, in a parking garage on Mill Vista Road. Upon observing law enforcement in the area, the suspect vehicle attempted to back out of a parking space. The deputy activated the patrol vehicle's emergency lights and pulled forward to signal the suspect to stop. The suspect vehicle accelerated forward, scraping, and colliding with the front passenger side push bumper of the patrol vehicle. The vehicle ran a stop sign and sped away. Deputies pursued the vehicle for a short distance, and the suspect vehicle spun out of control and rolled backwards into a metal railing, where it was pinned in place by deputies. The suspect, later identified as Armon Chism (DOB: 05/15/1982), of Denver, fled from the vehicle, and a short foot pursuit was initiated by pursuing deputies. The suspect was placed into custody after a successful taser deployment. While conducting their investigation, deputies were able to establish probable cause that Chism was a suspect in an earlier vehicle pursuit of a stolen Hyundai Tucson at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and County Line Road. Chism was found to be in possession of the stolen Hyundai ignition key and the vehicle was recovered nearby. Chism was booked into the Douglas County Jail for investigation of Motor Vehicle Theft, Vehicular Eluding, Obstructing a Peace Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Protection Order Violation, and Criminal Impersonation. Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said, “We will not allow criminals to victimize Douglas County residents. We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community will continue to work tirelessly to protect our residents and their property. I am so proud of my deputies who responded quickly and didn’t give up until this suspect was in custody.”

On March 16, 2026, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Dallas Police officers assigned to the Project Safe Neighborhood Task Force located a vehicle that was reported stolen in an armed carjacking on March 15. The officers called for additional units and AIR-1 to maintain visual contact with the vehicle before attempting a traffic stop in the 12300 block of Greenville Avenue. As officers approached and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, the car took off, and the officers immediately began to pursue it. With AIR-1 overhead, the suspect drove the wrong way down Greenville Avenue, and officers chased the driver onto I-635 with the suspect’s speed approaching 120 miles per hour. The suspect exited the freeway at Jupiter Road and continued to speed through residential areas. Because the helicopter was tracking the suspect, officers were able to safely navigate the residential areas and surface streets, following the suspect back onto I-635. The suspect sped through a construction zone, again reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour until he exited on Town East Boulevard and headed into the City of Mesquite, driving into oncoming traffic into the 2000 block of Town East Boulevard. With traffic building ahead, the suspect attempted to drive over the median and his vehicle became disabled. Dallas Police officers, assisted by officers from Mesquite and deputies from the Dallas Sheriff’s Office, took the suspect into custody. He was identified as 46-year-old Alfredo Hernandez and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a state jail felony; Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, a third-degree felony; Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony; and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon, a third-degree felony. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. This investigation is documented under case number 037178-2026.

Incidentally, it was another female police officer who threw the first punch in this insane altercation. Three officers sprung the 20 year old suspect (Mohammed Fahir Amaaz) in a car park after he’d just been fighting with another man, whom he allegedly headbutted (Abdulkareem Ismaeil) at Starbucks. The three officers approached the suspect from behind. Two female officers, one male officer. When asked in court: “It is important you identify yourselves as police officers, isn't it?” PC Ward (in the video) said: "I don't think we had any time to do that. We didn't have any time for rational discussion with this male as it turned violently quickly." The suspects brother (26 year old Muhammad Amaad) approached the officers who had hold of his younger brother and were pushing his head down. The female officer lent over and punched the older brother (who was not a suspect) in the face. After the female officer threw the first punch, the male officer also punched the suspect’s brother in the face. The suspect went into a frenzy and broke this female officers nose. The male officer then tased the suspect, kicked him in the face then stamped on his head. Had the suspect been handcuffed and taken to the station, this could have been avoided, the two female officers were unable to cuff him, despite having grabbed hold of his arms. He’s obviously a violent young man, so punching his brother in the face was an hysterical response from the first female officer. The second female officer who got her nose broken said: “I was terrified to be honest. I was absolutely terrified. I had never experienced that level of violence towards me in my life.” “I didn't know who was going to come up at me next. I was scared of going after this male again and being punched in the face again” Let me just say, I have been hit by a man, it’s an awful experience and one that women shouldn’t ever have to face. Unfortunately, feminism has convinced women that working in potentially dangerous roles where they need to tackle violent criminals is ‘liberating’. Protect women by getting them out of frontline forces.
