Everyone in Nigeria has a location. Now every location has a postcode. Today, NIPOST launches the National Digital Postcode System, and I’m speaking to you from the heart of it: our new GIS lab, where every corner of Nigeria is being mapped and coded. No more “turn left after the blue gate.” Your postcode connects you to deliveries, e-commerce, emergency services, banking and government services, wherever you are. After a successful pilot in Abuja, it’s now live nationwide. Know your postcode: Proud to lead the team building infrastructure that puts every Nigerian on the map. My deepest gratitude to President @officialasiwajubat for his vision and support under the Renewed Hope Agenda, and to the Hon. Minister Dr. 'Bosun Tijani , whose leadership in building Nigeria’s digital economy made this possible. Thank you to the NIPOST Nigerian Postal Service family, our partners, and every Nigerian who joined the exercise . This is national infrastructure built by Nigerians, for Nigerians. #KnowYourPostcode #NIPOST #DigitalPostcode #NigeriaAt66 #DigitalNigeria IndependenceDay

It is encouraging to see the National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System moving steadily from planning to implementation, with the commencement of the postcode delineation model validation exercise across the country. As field mappers begin engaging communities and validating the digital postcode model, we are taking another important step towards delivering a smarter, more secure, and digitally enabled addressing system for every Nigerian. I commend the Postmaster General/CEO of Nigerian Postal Service, Tola Odeyemi, and the entire NIPOST team for the dedication and professionalism they continue to demonstrate in driving this important national initiative. Every validated address brings us closer to a future where emergency response is faster, public services are more efficient, businesses can operate with greater confidence, and innovation is powered by trusted location intelligence. I look forward to the successful launch of the Postcode System in October and to the transformational impact it will have as another critical layer of Nigeria's Digital Public Infrastructure.

Nigeria is set to launch a Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System in October as part of efforts to strengthen national security, improve public safety, enhance emergency response, and support the growth of the country’s digital economy. The initiative, championed by the Nigerian Postal Service, is expected to provide trusted location intelligence that will allow people, assets, institutions, and services to be accurately identified and connected across the country.

BREAKING: Three new digital infrastructure projects aimed at transforming broadband connectivity in the country to kick off in a few weeks. Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, disclosed this yesterday after briefing President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa. The three projects are: 1. Rollout of 90,000 km fibre optic network. This project, to be launched in a few weeks, will extend fibre optic cables to every state, geopolitical zone, local government area, and ward, significantly improving the quality and reach of internet connectivity. 2. Deployment of 3,700 telecommunications towers to provide network coverage for more than 20 million Nigerians currently living in rural communities without access to telecommunications services. 3. Launch of an alphanumeric postcode system on October 1, placing the country among the 10-15 nations worldwide using the advanced addressing technology. This will help identify every property in this country. According to Minister Bosun Tijani, the system will assign a unique address to every building, making deliveries faster, boosting e-commerce, strengthening security, and improving public service delivery.

Every Nigerian deserves to be found. Every business deserves the chance to reach its customers. And every community deserves to be within reach of opportunity. Today, we are launching the National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System by Nigerian Postal Service , a significant step towards a Nigeria where your location connects you to more possibilities. Think of the small business ready to deliver beyond its neighbourhood, the family waiting for emergency help and the community that government needs to reach with essential services. An accurate postcode can make a meaningful difference in each of these lives. As we work towards H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ambition for a $1 trillion economy, we must build the foundations that allow more Nigerians to participate, trade and prosper. This is one of those foundations, and I am deeply excited about what we can build with it. Please find your postcode here - and start using it. Share this video, encourage your family and friends to find theirs, and help us take this message into every community. I also want to hear from you: Was finding your postcode easy? Have you started sharing and using it? What would you like it to make possible for you, your business or your community? Share your experience in the comments because your feedback will help us make this work better for everyone. Let’s put our communities on the map and bring opportunity closer to every Nigerian.
