This is a very good thing! 🚨RFK JR just announced the New Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and declares WAR on Sugar’s 🔻 Key Changes: - Focus on high-quality proteins and healthy fats; reduce emphasis on carbohydrates. - First explicit warnings against ultra-processed foods and additives. - Lift restrictions on full-fat dairy and natural fats. - Stricter limits on added sugars and non-nutritive sweeteners (avoid entirely for young children). - Support for lower-carb approaches where evidence shows benefits. - New emphasis on gut health via fiber-rich and fermented foods. 🔻 Core Recommendations: - Proteins (eggs, meat, seafood, beans, nuts) in every meal. - Healthy fats from avocados, olives, nuts, full-fat dairy, olive oil. - At least 3 servings vegetables and 2 servings whole fruits daily. - 3 servings dairy daily (full-fat options encouraged). - Whole grains preferred; limit refined grains. - Limit/avoid: ultra-processed foods, sugary drinks, added sugars, excess sodium. 🔻 Why this is so important: These guidelines directly shape federal child nutrition programs. They set the standards for meal patterns in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program, which provide meals to over 30 million children daily. Schools MUST align their menus with the guidelines (e.g., emphasizing whole foods, proteins, vegetables, and full-fat dairy while limiting processed items, added sugars, and refined carbs). THANK YOU JESUS!

Goat milk could heal the world. Look around at society right now…. Digestive problems and inflammation are everywhere. Autoimmune issues are on the rise. People are exhausted, nutrient deficient, constantly bloated, dealing with gut issues, mucus buildup, and feeling disconnected from real nourishment. And somehow this has all become “normal.” But what if part of the problem is that we moved so far away from the foods humans traditionally thrived on? Modern diets are filled with ultra-processed foods, artificial ingredients, seed oils, synthetic vitamins, gums, preservatives, and heavily processed dairy products that many people struggle to tolerate. Then people are told their body is the problem, but maybe the food is the REAL problem… Goat milk is one of the most nourishing traditional foods there is. Unlike conventional cow milk, goat milk naturally contains smaller fat molecules and a different protein structure, which is why many people find it much easier to digest and less inflammatory. Instead of sitting heavy in the stomach, many people describe goat milk as feeling lighter and easier on the body. It’s naturally rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, selenium, phosphorus, vitamin A, healthy fats, and bioavailable nutrients that support the body on a deep level. People have relied on goat milk for generations to help nourish growing children, support digestion, maintain strength, and provide nutrient-dense food during hard times. Goats can thrive where other livestock struggle, turning rough land and brush into incredibly rich milk. And honestly, I think a lot of people would feel dramatically different if they replaced processed foods and artificial drinks with real traditional nourishment like fresh goat milk. Better digestion, stable energy, and less inflammation. Real nourishment instead of empty calories. Funny how society labels ancestral foods as “alternative” while chronic illness becomes the norm. No thank you! Raw goat milk for the win!

Long rant, but worth it, please read & share. A bunch of businessmen, some quite famous, sit around a table discussing the "business of alcohol." So far so good. Alcohol is good business, a business that leech out others life. It rakes in money for governments through taxation & monopoly; and fattens the bank accounts of those behind the industry (like this round table group) and makes barons out of those who sell well. But when these businessmen, start glorifying their business of alcohol by equating it to "good healthcare intervention," it goes definitely into the realm of health misinformation, which is why, I have to keep discussing this absolutely garbage myth that "alcohol in moderation is good for you" and the absolute nonsense disclaimer to support that myth, which they call "drink responsibly." You know, first of all, it is easy for these rich men and women to glorify their alcohol business and discuss their high flying life, because "God" forbid, if they ever land with diseases related to alcohol - from strokes, to cancers to liver disease to mental health disorder - they can afford the best care out there. I treat alcohol use disorder and related acute liver disease, chronic liver failure and acute-on-chronic liver failure (the most devastating of them all with highest death rate without a timely liver transplantation) on a daily basis. I am not even saying "almost on a daily basis" - it is daily. Every single day from Monday to Friday - both in-patients, as well as out-patients. Patients and families struggle to make ends meet for proper healthcare because alcohol use destroyed their life savings. And by the time they find the funds to get things going, the patient is already on the ventilator and in multiple organ failure. They use the money to bury the dead person - killed by alcohol (normalized by round-table discussions like these) and the rest of the money, go toward the fatherless childrens education. Nice going? To claim drinking alcohol in moderation is good, is actually a crime. It is a crime towards humanity, it is not in good-faith --> it is in good-faith to run the business yes, because the many people who use it occassionally, move on to frequently, and then get dependent or "routinize" it. These businessmen have nothing to lose - because they have already put up a stupid disclaimer to get away with it - "drink responsibly." So it becomes the drinkers fault. But then is it really? Drinking alcohol is a choice. But drinking more alcohol becomes "not" a choice anymore. The first drink takes your brain. It reduces brain volume, gives you a dopamine kick, makes you happy. And then onwards, you are alcohol's slave. The drinks increase. Or a routine sticks. The alcohol controls your life. You have to drink to stay happy. And then the serotonin (the actual happiness hormone, not the pleasuring one like dopamine) cease to work inside your brain and the mental health disorder that follows will swallow you whole. You die. Your family is brioken. There is no money left. If you are lucky and rich like these people sitting around this table doing this nonsense of a podcast, then you may be able to afford a lifesaving organ transplant or healthcare intervention. There is no safe level of alcohol that is good for human health and every person who claims drinking in moderation is good for you, is actually an idiot, intellectually depleted and without any regard for fellow humans and lack compassion. No amount of alcohol is safe because it is not just a liver poison, it is systemic poison. It gets to every part of your body. Even single to lowest exposure can wreck your DNA and promote cancer formation. There is scientific evidence to this. ✅️ ✅ Any amount of alcohol can increase your chances of getting at least 7 types of dreadful cancers. ➡️ & ➡️ It is not just disease causing, but alcohol use is also a societal poison. It drives people into becoming menace to society, takes lives, wrecks havoc in homes and is the real widow-maker. Have you forgotten these so quickly? 🔴The 17-year-old Pune boy, son of a renowned real-estate developer Vishal Agarwal, spent a whooping Rs 48,000 in just 90 minutes in one of the two pubs he visited on Saturday evening where he consumed alcohol with his friends before ramming his Porsche Taycan into a motorcycle, killing two young techies. and this one? India’s alcohol deaths are higher than China; per capita consumption is set to rise: WHO And please allow me refresh your memory about this patient of mine. Rich business people can sit around a table and discuss the business of alcohol and the "best alcohol" that they savor and falsely glorify and normalize alcohol use among youth, but end-of-the-line physicians like me have to bear the brunt of their intellectually deficient, a humanism lacking stupid conversations. "The 4th Laddu": Doctor Shares Emotional Post About A Patient Who Touched His Heart Also banning alcohol has NOT led to economies go into shambles. For example a recent study in the Lancet Regional Health showed that "strict alcohol regulation policies may yield significant population level health benefits for frequent drinkers and many victims of intimate partner violence." In fact, "economic savings and health benefits from reduced alcohol consumption may be substantial—particularly in the health sector with reduced alcohol-related disease and injury." So please chuck that idea that "banning/ limiting or reducing alcohol sales" actually desroys economies. In fact it improves it because you get a helathier population. See the Nordic Schema: “A comprehensive ban on alcohol marketing, enforced at the national and local level, is a best practice for reducing alcohol sales and consumption." - which means, podcasts like these, which glorify alcohol use and market it indirectly must also be burned to the ground and held accountable. There is no healthy or safe alcohol. There is no best alcohol. Alcohol is ethanol, which is a systemic and societal poison. Do not glorify it. And this why there is no "responsible drinking," because you cannot advice people to "drink poison responsibly." Podcast discussions like these are helping no one here. Please, do something that actually helps people out here. Do something good for the society, instead of goofing up like this. No one asked for this absolute bonkers of a podcast topic. Irresponsible. The whole team. For a realistic detailed discussion on alcohol and its effects on the body and why we must avoid it at all costs, please see my deep discussion with Ranveer Allahbadia here: And on that final note, I must confess that the title of podcast series (video below) was perfectly named: WTF.

Never normalize alcohol use on social media. It can trigger persons trying to quit the habit or those who are abstinent get back on the destructive path. Look at this guy as an example. He is everything a human being must not be. He has a huge following on Instagram and this video has been watched by more than 100K people. He calls himself "Ashdin Doctor." People may think he is actually a Doctor, but "Doctor" is his surname. He has a Bachelors degree in Arts and Masters in Marketing Management. But here he is, advising people how to drink alcohol the right way. This video is utter garbage. His advice is targeted at preventing "dehydration" due to alcohol consumption. Dehydration is NOT the ONLY issue with alcohol consumption. Here are real issues with alcohol use whether or not, you choose to drink more water in between. 1. Alcohol use has been consistently linked to an increased risk of cancer. The type of alcohol - beer, wine, vodka or rum, does not change this risk. Even those who consume one drink per day have an increased risk. Even low dose of alcohol over short and long periods increases risk of terrible cancers. Cancers of the head & neck, esophagus (food pipe), liver, breast and colon/rectum are strongly linked to alcohol use. & & 2. Even occassional or low dose alcohol use such as one to two drin ks a day or few drinks in a week reduces the brain volume. Drinking one to two alcohol drinks a day increases brain aging: it "ages" the brain faster, by 2 years. If it is two to three drinks a day, then the brain changes are equivalent to brain shrinking and aging faster by three and half years. & 3. Even low/modest alcohol use reduces fertility in women and men. Lower chances of getting pregnant and the risk for reduced live births in women and due to fertility issues in men has been strongly linked to alcohol use - low doses and worsens with modest increments. & 4. Alcohol use is associated with male to female partner violence, perpetration and victimization of violence and early-childhood trauma & & 5. That low dose/modest daily alcohol use improves survival or increases life expectancy has been swept away into the garbage with a recent high powered metanalysis paper. No level of alcohol use is beneficial for human health. And recent studies show that increasing level of alcohol kills women more than men for the same dose and duration of use. Look for credible sources for healthcare information. Develop a critical thinking to filter medical/healthcare information for your benefit. A normal person would never make a video on how to drink alcohol. Alcohol is a known poison. A person may have many followers and well-edited videos and click-bait titles. But remember, they have nothing to lose if YOU get into harms way. The best part is, Ashdin Doctor, the Instagram influencer is a "Habit Coach" (FFS) and has written a children's book, titled The "Book of Good Habits For Kids" - but here he is, advising his followers how to drink alcohol better. There is some real cognitive dissonance happening and people must learn to spot such fakes on social media. IVM Podcasts should grow a brain before they host such unintelligent life forms on your platform. Stay informed and stay safe.

This is my answer to people offended by the video. • Watch the video fully. I talk about moderate intake of ultra processed food. Movie theater food availability was an example. • One chicken nugget will not harm you. The problem is you never stop with one. • Be honest. You are not eating ultra processed food once a month. • This is not about rare movie treats. This is a pattern in kids and adults. Look at the data on pediatric obesity. • If you think reducing frequent ultra processed food is BS, I will keep promoting that BS. You can keep eating. • If you dislike strong public health messaging and prefer complex science that no one understands, fine. May your GUT bless you. I have emphasized on complete avoidance of ultra processed food as much as possible with the hope that at least people will avoid 50% About my friend Saravana kumar . He is very active here. He was a nice guy but poor thing - Now he writes without rationale. Maybe he needs more fiber for gut brain axis to work again. I never replied to negative comments until now. I say the same thing online that I tell my patients online. My public health messaging has been strong with significant changes in the general audience. My target is not the PhD’s - my target is general public. But it is time to rethink. Medical professionals need alignment on social media to avoid mistrust. Let us work toward the goal of educating people, not fighting each other. I am always willing to work with people and not against.

The Politics of Food Guidelines and the Real Food Revolution | Marion Nestle, PhD In this episode, legendary food policy expert Dr. Marion Nestle (Marion Nestle) joins the show to discuss her new book "What to Eat Now" and share her unfiltered take on the 2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. At 89 years old, Dr. Nestle brings over five decades of experience to the conversation, including her role as editor of the 1988 Surgeon General's Report on Nutrition and Health and as a member of the 1995 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. We explore how supermarkets are designed to maximize spending rather than health, why the food industry's profit motive conflicts with consumer wellbeing, and why the simplest nutrition advice—eat real food, not too much, mostly plants—remains so difficult to follow. We also dig into the controversy surrounding the new dietary guidelines, examining both what Dr. Nestle praises (the emphasis on real food and limiting ultra-processed products) and what concerns her (the meat-forward messaging and questions about equity). As a member of the Scientific Review Group that developed the scientific foundations for these guidelines, I offer an insider perspective on what the evidence actually says versus how it's been communicated. The conversation turns to implementation challenges—from school meals to SNAP policy—and asks the critical question: how do we translate good dietary guidance into meaningful change when funding for community programs is being cut? If you're interested in understanding the forces shaping American food policy and what it means for public health, this episode offers a candid, nuanced discussion from two experts coming from different perspectives on the debate. They’re right—we shouldn’t romanticize food. We should respect it. The explosion of ultra-processed “meals” stripped of fiber, micronutrients, and natural complexity is upstream of so much modern sickness: metabolic dysfunction, skyrocketing ADHD diagnoses, chronic inflammation, and the supplement aisles full of people trying to buy back what their dinner lost. Kids raised on drive-thru and pouches never learn what real food tastes like or how it feels to eat it. Blood-sugar rollercoasters, missing choline, magnesium, omega-3s, and phytonutrients wire their brains and bodies for distraction and craving. We then treat the downstream symptoms with meds and powders instead of fixing the source. Start early. Teach little hands to chop vegetables, stir risotto, taste the difference between a backyard tomato and one from a plastic tub. Let them smell garlic hitting hot oil, watch bread rise, feel the satisfaction of a from-scratch meal. These aren’t cute Instagram hobbies—they’re wiring lifelong metabolic health, attention regulation, and self-reliance. Yes, it takes time. Yes, it’s less convenient. That’s the point. Convenience culture sold us decades of declining health in exchange for an extra 20 minutes. The bill is due—in obesity rates, mental health crises, and medical dependency. Reclaim the kitchen. It’s not nostalgia. It’s medicine, education, and love served on the same plate. Your future self (and your kids’ future selves) will thank you every single day they wake up energetic, focused, and unbroken.

The low-fat carnivore trend falsely claims to mimic an ancestral diet. This is wrong. Ancestors ate high-fat megafauna (mammoths); hunters today still target fat-rich animals (whales, seals, polar bears). Even Arctic fish are fat-rich. Larger animals, especially Arctic species hunted in the Ice Ages, naturally carry a higher percentage of body fat. Significant inter-abdominal fat is also found in the omentum, mesentery, and around the kidneys. Healthy animals simply have more fat than starving ones. Due to decades of processed food propaganda, people now discard nutritious subcutaneous and abdominal fat, consuming only lean muscle. Discarding this fat is not an ancestral practice. Avoiding animal fat sacrifices vital nutrients—DHA, EPA, Vitamins D3, K2, A, E, choline, cholesterol, and saturated fat—essential for neurological function and child brain development. Weight stalls often stem from a "dirty carnivore" diet (dairy, artificial sweeteners). When issues arise, people wrongly blame high fat, forgetting high-fat carnivore initially drove their health and weight loss. Switching to low-fat risks malnutrition and protein poisoning, which can result in weight loss, but at the expense of health. As health suffers, people blame long-term ketosis on the poor health effects, even though this is against all the best long-term peer-reviewed evidence (See my YouTube video "Is ketosis harmful?"l for more). Remember that your hormones like testosterone and estrogen are made out of cholesterol, and avoiding fat will make all hormones suffer. Eating carbs raises insulin and insulin resistance, which suppresses testosterone in men and estrogen in women. Fat is an essential nutrient, and is good for you. Don't avoid fat just because it's trendy and you don't want to give up dairy or sweets. That is good for you, so eat the damn fat. #carnivore #carnivorediet

Calories in, calories out doesn't account for deuterium. Soy sauce carries 186 ppm deuterium. Natural foods carry 130-150 ppm. No macro calculator accounts for this difference. Liu Yuting — science-technology strategist at Luzhou Yu Quan Deuterium Depleted Water Company, one of China’s largest DDW producers founded in 1967 — presented company-generated data analyzing 86 food items across 12 categories. Natural foods measured at 130–150 ppm. Fried foods averaged 165 ppm. Condiments such as soy sauce and vinegar reached up to 186 ppm. The mechanism is straightforward physics. During prolonged heating or concentration process, lighter water molecules evaporate faster. The heavier deuterium-containing water stays behind. The more processed the food — the higher its deuterium load. It means a highly processed food and a fresh food with identical macros deliver completely different deuterium loads to your mitochondria. A separate 2021 review “What to feed or what not to feed—that is still the question” published in Metabolomics found the same logic applies to grass-fed vs grain-fed animal products. Grain-fed animals — corn, soy, barley — follow a carbohydrate metabolism that is deuterium-enriching. Grass-fed animals operate in a natural ketogenic state that produces deuterium-depleted metabolic water. Grass-fed meat carries less deuterium than grain-fed equivalents. Dr. Laszlo Boros — co-author of the paper: "If you compare sour cream or butter from grass-fed cows compared to grain-fed cows. You go from 110 ppm to 136 ppm. 26 ppm difference." Boros: "It's not a joke." Two meals. Same calories. Same macros. Different deuterium load. The calories in, calories out model doesn’t account for that. Your mitochondria do.

So Accutane nuked your gut… That acne drug may clear your skin - but at what cost? It carpet bombs the bacteria keeping you healthy. Drugs like Accutane or Isotretinoin may appear to temporarily “fix” the problem of your acne (which has other underlying causes)… but with long term consequences. A guy at my recent Sol meetup details how he’s still dealing with poor amounts of beneficial bacteria in his system, years later. Your gut microbiome is your second brain. It controls your mood and your ability to absorb nutrients. Accutane leaves it in pieces. Luckily, the fix is straightforward - but it may be a bit stinky if you’re not used to it. This is what I recommend! Put simply, you need to cultivate bacteria in foods by fermenting them, then consume those foods. My top picks: ⁃ Raw kefir. Billions of living probiotics in every glass. More potent than any supplement in a plastic bottle. ⁃ Fermented meat. High meat, aged salami, fermented fish. An ancestrally consistent delicacy praised for its health giving properties. ⁃ Stinky raw blue cheese. Those mold cultures aren't only tasty - they're actually medicinal. Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Stilton. The funkier the better. Fermented foods work because they're alive. They repopulate your gut with the bacteria that antibiotics destroy. They come with their own enzymes. They're pre-digested and bioavailable. Our ancestors didn't need probiotic capsules, they simply ate food that was teeming with life. So, if you’ve taken big Pharma medications in the past, now is the time you replenish! Start slow, eat small amounts and then build up. Let the bacteria thrive - what you’ll notice is that you will begin to crave these foods and normal processed “foods” will disgust you. This is your microbiome repopulating.
