This was awesome. I got the opportunity to describe to Rick Rubin how I make Founders podcast: “Steph Curry was asked: What do you think of when you're taking a shot? And he said: Absolutely nothing. I’ve had people ask me how I choose what to highlight. What are you thinking of when you're doing this? And my response is: Nothing. I just read and if something jumps out to me I don't think at all, I just underline it. And then I'll go back through and reread all my highlights. And if that part is still interesting, it was interesting the first time, now it's interesting the second time, it's probably interesting to other people. There's 10 million mes out there. I'm not unique. And there's no way that if I read this line twice and found it interesting that if I read it on a podcast that somebody else is not going to think it's interesting too. If I overthink it or if I think of “oh this person might hear it” or “oh this many people will hear it” that gets in the way. I'm thinking of nothing.”

Alberta flags allegedly stolen from children at Canada Day parade Imagine taking Alberta flags out of the hands of children because you don't like how their parents might vote. That's exactly what one Alberta independence campaign says happened in Wetaskiwin. Now, the RCMP investigation has reportedly been escalated. I spoke with the man behind United Alberta Flags, John Tomkinson, at Keith Wilson's sold-out 1,000-person Let Alberta Decide Stampede breakfast. The turnout at Wilson's Stampede breakfast made one thing clear: Alberta's independence movement is drawing crowds in the real world, not just online. Nearly 1,000 people packed Ranchman's Cookhouse just days after tickets went on sale, bringing together supporters and third-party advertiser groups from across the province ahead of the October 19 referendum. One of those groups was United Alberta Flags, founded by Tomkinson. His organization has been travelling the province, handing out Alberta flags and encouraging Albertans to proudly display them as part of the referendum campaign. But Tomkinson's group has also become embroiled in a growing controversy. United Alberta Flags alleges that volunteers with the opposing Forever Canadian campaign removed Alberta flags and referendum campaign materials from children and families during the Wetaskiwin Canada Day parade. According to Tomkinson, additional witnesses and video evidence have led the Wetaskiwin RCMP to elevate the investigation to the Central Alberta RCMP Investigations Division. We have a situation here in which there is a street market and a lady is standing with a sign that says repent not bothering anybody just standing there with a sign. Along comes middle-aged gentlemen, and I use that term loosely who has decided to get in her face and wish hell upon her.. he gets so worked up in fact that people around her are concerned that he might get violent with her so they’re being protective over her understandably so. I find this happens an awful lot, which is people who don’t believe get very angry at people that do so you have to wonder why is he so angry?? Is he angry at God? Is he angry at himself because he doesn’t wanna hold himself accountable for things that he’s done? The way I see it if you don’t believe in God, then none of these signs or words of the gospel should bother you in anyway..

William is a great reminder that the people who win become obsessed with something very small and stick with it far longer than anyone else. Enjoy three minutes of him explaining how to become the very best at one thing: "I'm probably the best in the world at a couple small, boring stuff. I do think the world for builders is the world of specialists. And you have to go extremely, extremely deep into your area and that's where you find value. One of the best determiners for success of founders is can they find the most boring thing humanly possible, interesting, over a multi-decade period. How AI is going to disrupt software...These are generalist topics that I can probably find a thousand people that have interesting, compelling ideas and can go pretty deep on that. But you can't create value there. You can create value if you're the number one person in the entire world at this little niche thing. And I think this niche thing can generate billions of dollars over time. The problem is those places are really boring and requires you to read hundreds of thousands of pages that you cannot Gemini Deep Research your way through."

We've seen an angry Superman a couple of times, but an angry Clark Kent......one of the things I like and found interesting about this scene is that Clark doesn't use his name, he announces himself to the guy as "John Kent's father; Lois Lane's husband." His name didn't matter, just his relationship with the people that guy hurt, so that the man knew exactly what got him into that situation."

He posted it on DeviantArt under the name Whynne, and it quickly spread through 4chan, Reddit, forums, and early meme culture. The funny part is that it was meant to mock trolls, but the internet turned it into the universal symbol of trolling itself. Problem?

Instead of acknowledging them, they unconsciously attempts to provoke those same feelings in someone else.
