One year ago today, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a Joint Declaration & initialed the historic peace agreement in Washington. What many could hardly have imagined is becoming reality. Over the past year, Azerbaijan’s peace agenda has increasingly translated into tangible results. Bilateral economic cooperation has begun. Azerbaijani gasoline and... diesel are being exported to Armenia. Grain, fertilizers and other goods from third countries are transiting through Azerbaijan to Armenia. New opportunities for connectivity, transportation and cooperation are emerging across our region. Dialogue is also expanding - not only between our governments, but between our civil societies, opening new channels of communication and understanding after decades of conflict. These may appear to be ordinary acts of commerce, connectivity and dialogue. In the context of our shared history, they are anything but ordinary. They demonstrate what a genuine peace agenda can achieve when there is political will to turn it into reality. A year ago, a new chapter was opened in Washington. Today, we are beginning to see its promise fulfilled: former adversaries building a future increasingly defined by dialogue, cooperation, connectivity and shared prosperity. That restriction was imposed because of occupation of our internationally recognized territories by Armenia. We also started to supply Armenia with critical fuel, particularly gasoline, diesel. In today's geopolitical situation, it has even bigger importance than ever before. So, we are demonstrating that for us, peace is something we can already touch. We can feel it. And we are learning to live in peace.

At this critical moment in history, as Ethiopia prepares for its historic and momentous National Dialogue, I have an important and solemn appeal to all my fellow Ethiopians. The beginning of tomorrow’s dialogue process is not merely an ordinary political forum. It is also the beginning of a new chapter in our history and one that will determine the destiny of both our generation and those to come, as well as our shared hopes for the future. To all of you who are committed to securing lasting peace, stability, and comprehensive prosperity for our country, and who care deeply about Ethiopia’s greatness: the opportunity is here, and the time is now. Just as our forefathers and foremothers fought at the Battle of Adwa with their blood and their lives for the freedom, sovereignty, and honor of our nation, today Ethiopia once again calls upon her sons and daughters who are ready to shoulder the responsibility entrusted to them by history. Yet in this moment, our country does not seek those who bear rifles. Rather, it seeks champions of peace and people equipped with maturity of thought, truth, knowledge, and steadfast determination. We continue working on implementing our Peace Formula. Today, we have another new signature under the Peace Summit communiqué – Botswana has joined – and this is important as a signal to everyone in the world that we are expanding, no matter how difficult it may be, the circle of our partners – and thus the partners of peace for Ukraine and everyone in the world who respects international law. Additionally, these days negotiations are ongoing with participants of our working groups regarding the points of the Peace Formula – negotiations about how and when we will fill the implementation of the points of the Peace Formula with the necessary substance. Our unwavering goal is to prepare a real foundation for a just end to this war already this year. And it is possible.

President of Armenia 🇦🇲: "We don't have any diplomatic relationship with Pakistan and honestly I am trying to build them. Pakistan is not a country you can ignore, in our region especially. If we have ties with Pakistan, may be their approach to Caucasus will be different. I do not see any contradiction between this dialogue with Pakistan and our ties with India." President of Armenia is spot on here. Diplomacy is not a zero sum game and it is absurd that Pakistan refuses to recognise Armenia. Our principled stance was over Armenian occupation of Ngorno Karabakh and that is over now. Yes they have their Indian alliance (Something we forced them into by putting our weight behind Azerbaijan) and we have our Azeri Alliance but that should not mean that we shouldn't have bilateral relationship with each other. Obviously our Azerbaijani alliance is far more important to our broader regional strategy (and on a people-to-people level) but we can certainly normalize ties with Armenia like Azerbaijan has with India. There's no reason not to establish ties with Armenia and boost trade, Baku is very unlikely to have any concerns about that. If anything, we might play a constructive role there by mediating between Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenia into making Zangezur economic corridor where Azeri oil/gas is pumped to Europe to replace Russian supplies and Armenians and Turks benefit from transit. Zangezur carries the potential of ending national security nightmares of Armenia, make it wealthier and ending Russian colonial influence in Caucasus for good.

Today is Europe Day. And Ukraine is marking it not formally or through sloganeering, but fully aware that we are already an inseparable part of the European family. We are defending Ukraine, our independence, our future – and in doing so, we in Ukraine are defending our Europe. A Europe of which Ukraine has been and will remain a part. From the first days of the full-scale war until today, Europe has stood with Ukraine. And this is not charity – it is a choice made by Europeans: to stand on the same side as the brave and the strong – the Ukrainians who are fighting today for peace and true protection against tyranny, not only for themselves, but for the entire continent. And we will inevitably defend our state, our people, and our right to freely choose our future – a future in Europe. Glory to Ukraine!

It was a great honour to participate in the 47th #ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur. EU and ASEAN are two regional organisations that share the same objectives: building peace, stability and prosperity through cooperation and integration. Our collective ambition is to work side by side to keep our regions even more connected to each other and to the world. As we look ahead to the 50th anniversary of EU-ASEAN relations in 2027, we must strengthen and deepen our partnership. Every new trade agreement and new investment is a bridge that reinforces stability and shared prosperity. Because a multipolar world requires multipolar cooperation.

If you think that the Armenian separatists in #Azerbaijan’s Garabagh region were a bunch of peaceful “freedom fighters”, you are deeply mistaken. They were heavily armed & trained forces - primarily from Armenia as well as local armed formations - who terrorized Azerbaijani civilians for 30 years. The existence of armed separatism on Azerbaijan’s sovereign soil was a major obstacle for peace with Armenia that continued to fund and support this separatism after the war of 2020. Now there is a historic chance for signing a peace agreement and Armenia should not miss it.

Azerbaijani people have endured immense suffering, from genocidal invasion of our lands by Armenia and forced displacement of 1 million Azerbaijanis in early ‘90s, thru 30 years of brutal & barbaric occupation, to Armenia’s deadly strikes on civilians in 2020 and so on. Yet we are ready for peace and a new beginning with Armenia. We want ethnic Armenians to live peacefully and thrive in Garabagh, enjoying all their rights as equal citizens of #Azerbaijan. Peace is possible, coexistence is possible.
