The investigation led to the arrest of key suspects, while other members of the syndicate remain at large. Through intelligence-led operations and the AUTOREG Vehicle Tracking Platform, detectives recovered Toyota Highlander (2017 Model), Toyota Highlander (2007 Model), Toyota RAV4 (2010 Model), two (2) Toyota Hiace Buses (2016 Model), one Toyota Hiace Bus (2020 Model), and one Ford Edge SUV (2018 Model). Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and recover the remaining vehicles. The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations. LAGOS POLICE INTERCEPT TRUCKLOAD OF MILITARY UNIFORM, ILLICIT DRUGS The Lagos State Police Command says it has intercepted 47 sacks of military camouflage uniforms and 80 cartons of suspected illicit drugs in an intelligence-led operation in the Surulere area of the state. The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Fatai Tijani, who addressed journalists in Ikeja on Tuesday, said three suspects have been arrested in connection with the recovery. He said the suspects, identified as Chinedu David, 29; Ezeagwu Chukwuma, 38; and Ifeanyi Ogbeanyi, 45, were arrested by operatives of the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit on Saturday night. Full Report: The Ogun State Police Command has successfully dismantled an organized child trafficking and illegal surrogacy syndicate operating under the guise of an orphanage facility. This breakthrough was achieved by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department following the transfer of the case from Idanyin Divisional Headquarters. In the course of the operation, 7 children were rescued and 5 principal suspects were arrested, exposing a planned sale of babies at the rate of ₦1.5 million per child. The case began on 28th November, 2025, when one Amara reported the abduction of her six-year-old son, Samuel Honesty, at Idanyin Divisional Headquarters in the Agbara area of Ogun State. Preliminary investigations led to the arrest and prosecution of Chioma Honest and Praise Honesty for suspected foul play. Following the report, the case was transferred to the SCID for in-depth investigation. On 21st January, 2026, the abducted child was dropped at Gowon Police Station, Lagos State, where he stated that he had been taken to Joyful Kids Orphanage, Badagry, and identified Madam Joy as the operator of the facility. Acting on this intelligence, operatives conducted a coordinated operation at the orphanage, rescuing six additional children and bringing the total number of rescued minors to seven. The rescued children include Ramsey Chiedozie (8 years), Rafael Rofiu (6 years), Kazeem Chiedozie (6 years), Segun Uthman (9 years), Ola Abdulhakeem Abdulrasheed (9 years), David Oyelese (9 years), and Samuel Honesty (6 years). We wish to emphasize that Samuel Honesty has been safely and happily reunited with his mother, Amara, bringing closure to a traumatic experience and restoring the family unit. During the operation, two pregnant young women, Tanimola Martins (18 years) and Favour Martins (18 years), were discovered within the facility. They confessed that they were recruited to carry pregnancies with the intention of selling their babies to pre-arranged buyers upon delivery, at a fee of ₦1.5 million per child, facilitated by the orphanage operator. The principal suspect, Joy Chiedozie (36 years), also known as Madam Joy, was arrested at the orphanage. She confessed to purchasing the abducted child for ₦1.5 million, paying ₦900,000 in cash and ₦600,000 via bank transfer to a woman known as Kelly, and subsequently selling the child to one Mr. Emmanuel, who is currently at large. Further investigation revealed that Yusuf Adebowale (31 years), the orphanage driver, also acted as an uncertified surrogate agent, facilitating illegal surrogacy arrangements and connecting pregnant girls with prospective buyers. TROOPS APPREHEND 46 SUSPECTED ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN OGUN STATE Troops of the Nigerian Army, in conjunction with DSS, NSCDC and Immigration, have apprehended 46 suspected illegal immigrants residing in Ogun State following actionable intelligence. The operation which commenced on 11 June 2026, led to the arrest of the suspects at various locations within Ijebu Imushin, Ijebu Ilese and surrounding communities during a targeted security operation. Preliminary investigations revealed that the individuals had allegedly been residing in the state for approximately six months without valid immigration documentation. During interrogation, the suspects claimed to be merchants and workers affiliated with QNet, an online marketing platform involved in the sale of various commodities. The arrested individuals comprise 18 nationals of Burkina Faso, 23 nationals of Côte d'Ivoire, 4 nationals of Togo and 1 national of Senegal. Among them are 36 males and 10 females. The suspects have since been handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Ogun State Command, for further investigation and appropriate administrative action in accordance with extant laws. TROOPS OF OPERATION WABAIZIGAN RESCUE 14 KIDNAP VICTIMS IN EDO STATE Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, under 2 Division, participating in Operation WABAIZIGAN, have successfully rescued 14 kidnapped victims following a swift response to a kidnap incident along the Lagos–Benin Expressway in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. The operation further demonstrates the Nigerian Army's unwavering commitment to protecting lives and denying criminal elements freedom of action within its area of responsibility. The rescue operation was conducted at about 9:30pm on 30 July 2026 after troops on routine patrol received credible intelligence on the kidnap incident. Acting swiftly and decisively, the troops immediately pursued the kidnappers along their withdrawal route, applying sustained pressure that forced the criminals to abandon 11 of the abducted victims and flee into the surrounding forest. In a follow-up clearance operation conducted on 31 July 2026, the troops aggressively combed the forest and successfully rescued the remaining three victims, bringing the total number of rescued victims to 14. Following preliminary debriefing and medical assessment, all the rescued victims were confirmed to be in stable condition and were subsequently reunited with their families or allowed to continue their respective journeys. On 31st March 2026, operatives of the Tiger Tactical Squad, Umuagba, Port Harcourt, forcefully broke into an apartment, arrested occupants, and falsely accused them of involvement in child ritual activities. The victims were unlawfully detained and pressured to secure their release by paying money into a POS account allegedly provided by the officers. In desperation, the family of the victims borrowed and paid N500,000 just to regain the freedom of their loved ones. Upon receiving the complaint, I immediately escalated the matter through the IGP Complaint Response Unit (CRU), with the support of Prince Adedigba Adeyinka Daniel Following swift intervention, the full amount of N500,000 was successfully refunded to the victims on 5th April 2026. As part of the ongoing clean-up and enforcement operations along Coastal Road, operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce carried out a late-night raid at about 10pm yesterday, targeting identified black spots in the area. During the operation, 75 suspects were arrested, comprising 68 males and 7 females. Substances suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered at the scene. In the course of the exercise, one of our officers, Inspector Omosanjo Mohamed, was violently attacked by hoodlums and sustained a serious head injury. He is currently receiving medical treatment. The victims were kidnapped on Sunday 9 August 2026 when armed criminals attacked commuters along the Ojuwo–Ajengo–Memarebo and Ojiwo–Itobe roads in Ofu Local Government Area of the state. Acting swiftly on credible intelligence that the victims had been moved to the vicinity of Adumu Community in Dekina Local Government Area, troops of 21 Battalion and personnel of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Lugard immediately launched a joint search and rescue operation alongside the Nigeria Police, vigilantes and local hunters. During the operation, the joint security team established contact with the fleeing kidnappers and engaged them in a fierce firefight. Overwhelmed by the superior firepower and coordinated assault of the security forces, the criminals abandoned all their captives and escaped into the surrounding forest with gunshot wounds. The operation culminated in the successful rescue of all 16 kidnapped victims, comprising six adult males, six adult females and four children. The rescued victims are undergoing documentation, medical assessment and reunification with their families. Regrettably, one local hunter who participated courageously in the operation paid the supreme sacrifice, May his soul rest in peace. ANAMBRA STATE: The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, and the Anambra State Police PRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga — officers whom Naija Confra once held in high regard — are now becoming some of the worst performers when it comes to handling cult-related violence, and we sincerely hope they begin to change their approach. Naija Confra praises people when they do well, but also call them out when they fail in their duties. Since the initiation of a 3-year-old baby by DNKI (Vikings) cultists on October 15 in Nsugbe, Anambra State, the Anambra State Police Command has done absolutely nothing about the case — no statement, no investigation update, and not even a single post on their social media pages. Meanwhile, when it was initially thought to have happened in Delta State, the Delta State Police Command acted swiftly and effectively. This unseriousness from the Anambra State Police may eventually allow these criminals to escape from the country. It was this same Anambra where, on March 29 midnight, security operatives busted an NBM (Aye) cult initiation, yet the leader of the group, who organized the initiation that saw many di£, is still walking freely and now even heads a faction of the cult group nationally. This is unacceptable. The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, must step in immediately. One of the individuals involved in the child’s initiation has already been identified, and Naija Confra has video evidence that can assist in the investigation.
