Childcare is now more expensive than college. In the Legislature, I passed a bill to cut property taxes for childcare centers, allowing small businesses like Green Space Nature Preschool to cut costs for working families. In the Senate, I’ll keep fighting for our tiny Texans. 🌱

The budget is in a weeks time - we haven’t even heard this government utter the word childcare let alone invest in it. That has to change in a weeks time for the sake of our economy and our families spending more on nurseries than they do rent or mortgages! @PregnantScrewed

Our economy is rigged. The rich get richer, while working families struggle to make ends meet. My ROBINHOOD Act would close the “buy, borrow, die” loophole that increases this wealth gap & would generate $30 billion/year — more than enough to fund universal childcare nationwide.

If they truly cared about children and families, they should pass my bill with Ranking Member Rep. Bobby Scott and Katherine Clark, the Child Care for Working Families Act.

In my home state of Pennsylvania, the system is so broken that childcare workers would have to spend nearly half their annual salary to get care for their own kids. Labour are no longer the Labour Party, they are the Welfare Party. As even their Welfare Secretary said, all Labour MPs want is to tax more people. They keep asking who can they tax more to pay for more benefits. If you are on benefits that means you’re not working, so why do you need free childcare? There’s no common sense anymore.” Kemi is spot on. Labour are now the party of welfare, all they want to do is tax more people to give away on benefits. She’s right: why hand out free childcare to those not working? It makes no sense. 🤷‍♂️
